I still wouldn't write off the Coast Guard - isn't Jose a Coast Guard "child". DR had a giggle when he found out we live quite near "Stud" road.

I can’t believe I missed chat last night! And by a mere 7 minutes! Ugh! I’ve been busy with a couple little pet projects and just didn’t realize chat was about to happen. Sorry!

One Life to Live is the only soap opera I kinda keep up on because my mom likes it and I wanted to have something to talk to her about. It was boring to me before the guy who used to play the vampire on “Port Charles” showed up. Hubba, Hubba! I don’t know what it is about him, the hair or because he has one of those kind of voices that I really like.

I was going to mention the repeats on Soap Net but someone beat me to it. That’s the only way I keep up with the show. I normally catch a few of them on the weekend. Just enough to keep me up to date with what going on.

Hang in there RLP! You’ll be better than new in no time!

In Pennsylvania we lived near the Spread Eagle Inn. Giving directions to out of towners was always good for a laugh.

I just attempted to photograph some black cockatoos. It is so difficult - to get close enough and to have them against a suitable background. No doubt these photographs will stay in Colin's camera for a while too. It looks as though we will be taking a borrowed Digital camera (plus our usual "old fashioned" ones and a video camera) to France. After 5 weeks away form the board I shall no doubt be posting quite a few pictures - maybe even of our friend François.

LOL- No. There are some odd named places in that state. No joking, the restaurant had the best corn bread. I wish I had asked for the recipe. Now they have closed. It was a family business going back several generations. The locals still miss it.

Enjoyed LOVE NEST. I had never seen the whole thing, so there were surprises in it for me. Also, Marilyn was SO much better in this than in ALL ABOUT EVE, so composed and secure (on the screen). No wonder she became a phenomenon; with her beauty and appeal, she makes the otherwise appealing June Haver appear very ordinary. June had talent but no sparkle in most of the things I've seen her in. marilyn always had that sparkle.

Wow re: tonight's Big Brother

I am so happy that the person who won the Young & The Restless walk-on was a big Y&R fan. I had no idea till watching tonight's show.

(I won't reveal the name since the show isn't over on the West Coast yet).

I cannot wait to see the clips on this Thursday's BB show. And I cannot wait to see it on the show on Monday.

Hmmm, wow, in Canada we get Y&R one day early. So I will get to see it this Friday.

I also want to say that I was so disappointed watching the Olympics today (with one particular event). Will try to remember to comment on it tomorrow (since I'm not sure if the event has aired on NBC). But it has to do with a fall. Enough said.

Have made my selection for tomorrow's DVD viewing: DRACULA: DEAD AND LOVING IT. I honestly thought this one worked after years of really pallid Mel Brooks satires. I'll be curious to see how it holds up in the years since I first saw it.

I am taking a break from my homework. I had that Communist class today. Oy.

By the way, I am now accepting donations of the Cliff's Notes for Under Western Eyes, The Master and Margarita, Children of the Sun, Cancer Ward, The Captive Mind, I Served the King of England, Lenin's Tomb, Mrs. Dalloway, Wuthering Heights, and various Shakespeare plays.

I will also have to perform one of Shakespeare's monologues or scenes. Anyone have a suggestion?

I don't know if I will be allowed to bring my Cherry Coke to class, but I would like to see one of my teachers try to take it away from me.
