Wonderful news, DRMBARNUM.

Thanks so much for the London Theatre RoundUP - DRCP.  Whew what a wonderful time you must have had.

I am intrigued by HISTORY'S BOYS - and much distressed at the thought of a less than perfect BLITHE SPIRIT in London Town....ohhhhhh my.

Welcome back, DRCharlesPogue!  I'm more interested in the books you bought.  I'm thinking about order from Amazon.co.uk the recently published autobiography of Denis Quilley.  I met him when he did JUBILEE, my Cole Porter restoration, for BBC Radio-3, and he was a delight.  I'd just seen him at the National in CANDIDE, so we talked a lot about Bernstein and Hellman and his playing Candide in the 1958 London premiere.

Twiggy, a dear friend of Mr BK and myself, played Elvira a couple of years ago in Chichester's BLITHE SPIRIT.  I would have loved to see her.

Danise I agree with you regarding tea shops.  Sometimes I get ill just walking into a Starbucks, the smell of their coffee doesn’t agree with me.

George thanks for the control A tip.

As far as I know the river in Lancaster is named for the Sankey family.   There is also the town of Great Sankey named for my family.

I believe a very memorable birthday was when I was whisked away via airplane and taken to Vegas for a day.  That was incredible, really.  I've also had some very nice surprise parties.

Two strip Tech was a cruder version of three strip - and basically missing a color of the spectrum, which is why two-strip looks like faded Eastman color.

We never stay long enough in one place to have enough close friends to invite to a surprise party.  I need to go to LA for my birthday if I want a really great party.

A surprise trip sounds like fun.  The closet I came to that was the year Keith planned a trip to Williamsburg for my birthday.  I knew ahead of time so I could pack and hire a kid & pet sitter.  It was a great birthday.

Bruce did you take a nap?

Birthdays have never been a huge day for me...nothing UNpleasant, mind you...dinners out with the family, things like that...but nothing surprising and dramatic.  Stopped having birthday parties when I was in the third grade...don't think I've really had one since.

Happy Birthday BK!!!

Glad you are back safely on the west coast.

My question to bk is:  Perhaps you posted this, but I missed it - But, what did you pick up at Footlight in NYC?

Isn't that a coffee?

In certain parts of Louisiana, I believe.

Also, in the Appalachians, it has been heard from the mouths of babes as a form of "thanky".

Request time.

Was the soundtrack of "Night and Day" ever released on record (or CD).  Just had a phone call about it.. Who sang "Begin the Beguine" in the film.  I know the DVD is available now.

I'm almost certain that the person who sang "Begin the Beguine" in the film is the same person who sings it on the DVD.

I tried nodding off, but it only worked for about ten minutes.  I will probably post the notes around ten tonight, and just get to bed early.  Also, not sure how I'll work the notes tomorrow night - I've been asked to do a radio show here in LA, and it starts at nine and goes to midnight.  I'll probably write them early but post them late.

Since there is only my Mother and myself, I've had Birthdays go by and never have a soul say "Happy Birthday".  Including her because she forgot.   It's no big deal.  Stings sometimes.

Glad to see your home safe, BK.  Your over tired, that's why you can't sleep.   You need to go in your hot tub or take a nice warm bath if its to cold for the hot tub and have a nice warm glass of milk.  It will relax you.

Unfortunately, the hot tub will have to wait - whilst I was away, the heater's pilot light bit the dust (maybe because of the rain) - I've called the Pool Man, but have no idea when he'll get out here to fix it.

Well, Jane, it is a mutual admiration society, and almost a verbatim quote one, as well.  When Betsy came home today I told her about our posts, and the first thing out of her mouth was:  "I knew there was a reason I like Jane so much!"

The clutter situation has been the one thing in our otherwise pretty tranquil domestic life that I tend to get a bit peeved about (of course, Betsy would probably LOL at me qualifying "peeved" with "a bit").  ;)

I am listening to an import CD of Tito Guizar. I just love him (he was wonderful in BLONDIE GOES LATIN).

Any DRs have an opinion of this singer?

Sometimes, dear MBarnum, I am not even sure
