Yes, DRCP - those are the characters. I just found out today that a television pilot was filmed in 1958 featuring the detectives. Billy Pearson was Donald Lam and Benay Venuta was Bertha Cool. Miss Allison Hayes played a supporting role as Evaline Dell.

Good Afternoon!

I just wanted to pop in before I head in for tonight's show - only five more performances to go! -Not that I'm counting or anything like that. *And in the weirdness that is DC Theatre, we're only 48% full tonight - at least as of Wednesday. Otherwise, we've been practically at overflow the rest of the week, and the rest of the weekend is practically SRO. In any case...

Final count: 4 dozen Crispy Chocolate Chippers, 5 dozen Cantuccini (almond Biscotti), 4 dozen Oatmeal-Chocolate-Chip-Pecan-Toffee Cookies, and 4 dozen Not-Your-Average Peanut Butter Cookies.

....And I managed to get my one hour workout in, and a trip to the cake supply store (I needed boxes and cake circles), and the grocery store (I was running dangerously low on maple syrup and light brown sugar!).

WHEW!!!!!

So, I shall catch up on today's posts once I'm back from the show, although I sense I'll be baking a cake - or two - when I get back tonight.

-I'm basically cleaning out my pantry here so I don't have to lug all of it back to Richmond. And in the process, I'm ~~fattening up~~ providing my cast and crew with treats. -And we're not even up to Closing Night yet!?!?!?!

OK - I must dash away, dash away onward - whatever that means? -Where the heck did that come from?!?!?!

Well, I'm back from Barnes & Noble and a wonderful dinner at Artie's. Around 4:45 this afternoon, Miss "Jewish Thighs on Broadway" herself showed up , visited with us clerks for around 15 minutes and then she and I took ourselves to Arties, where Miss PennyO had chicken in a pot, which looked great, smelled delightful, and tasted divine. I had matzoh ball soup, potato pancakes and applesauce, which was quite wonderful, and Artie's is very generous with their pickles and cole slaw.

Chris Meloni was in the store today, and yesterday I met Robbie Benson (voice of the Beast) and his lovely wife Karla DeVito at the Rodgers & Hammerstein offices. I heard three wonderful songs from a show they're writing, and their vocals were fantastic.

Evening all!

I’m finely on the mend. Again. I guess what can’t be cured must be endured. Sigh. I’m only praying that this doesn’t happen when I’m in NY.

On the bright side, I was reading about NY in March and learned that you can go ICE SKATING at Rockefeller Center! I am SO there! I have always wanted to try ice skating!

I may even do a triple lutz! I may not mean to do a triple lutz but I might do one just the same.

Are there any plans on the book signing yet? Is it Friday or Saturday? I only ask because I want to start planning what I’m going to do on what days. I’ve already decided to go see “Fiddler on The Roof” Friday night. My “must” see/do’s (besides the book signing/get together) are go the museum, go to the zoo/Central Park again, go ice skating and ride the subway.

I think I can spend Monday going to the zoo/Central Park in the morning, the Museum in the afternoon and as there are no shows on Monday night, maybe the Planetarium.

If the book signing is Saturday, I shall go ice skating on Friday and maybe do Grand Central Station as well.

Anyway, just thought I’d check on how everyone else’s plans are shaping up.

I'm at work, but not for long. Tonight, I'm going to the show Closer Than Ever that my friend Nona (who died on Wednesday

) was in. A friend of mine saw the show last night and said that they did a real good job with how they did the tribute to her.

I'm going to eat dinner first, then the show. I'm sure I'll have some sort of report when I get back.

Danise - Are you staying at the Muse or at the Milford Plaza? If you're at the Muse, you'll be pretty close to Rockefeller Center. I'm staying at the Comfort Inn-Midtown, on 46th St., right across the street from the Muse. When I stayed in the same hotel in October, I walked over to RC a couple of times.

As far as skating is concerned, I used to do a lot of it when growing up in Michigan. Haven't been on skates for well over 30 years, though. Watching is more my speed now.

We have a very nice dinner in town this evening at Tabu, the Nuevo Latin restaurant which is one of our local favorites. In fact Penny has eaten there a couple of times with us. They have a new chef and I was a bit nervous, but the food was better than ever.

Now we are off to watch something.

Oh, boy, did STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE spring a big surprise in the last few moments of tonight's episode. Won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, but it looks like (at least from that one scene) that they had a strong indication that this was going to be their last season weeks ago when this episode was filmed.

Watching the early episodes from CSI:MIAMI reminded me that Kim Delaney was on the show for a few episodes before leaving the show abruptly. It never did come out exactly why she left the show. Does anyone know for sure?
