To my delight, today my cholesterol was a mere 169! BP was a tad high but not bad.  No where near the triple digits top and bottom that I was having.  And all with OUT taking any meds to bring them under control.

DH has problems with his cholesterol counts and starting taking fish oil caplets.  I will have to check with him about the dosage he takes, but they have reduceded his numbers on the "bad" cholesterol amazingly well!!

JoseS-
No problem on last night's lyrical quest. I rarely have a chance to put my ridiculous pop music mental storage capacities to good use.

DR Danise - I still haven't bought a WiFi card for my Pocket PC, but I did go over the procedure with the salesman - and other people - on how to get it configured.

You do not necessarily need an ISP in order to use a WiFi card.  However, what you will need is some sort of browser program on your PDA.  Now, if you're Pocket PC 2002-3, on Windows CE  on your PDA, then Internet Explorer should be built in.  Once you configure your card for an "ad hoc" connection, it should just pick up the signal and connect to your homepage once you open IE.  Then you can log on to your ISP/AOL/Yahoo/etc. with the web browser/IE.

You should only need an ISP for you PDA if you will be using a dial-up connection to connect to the internet.  How are you connecting to the internet now?  Even if you are using dial-up, there should be some sort of web page access - like AOL has set up now with the Screen Name service.

Hope this helps.

*Oh, if you WiFi card has an 800 number, it might be worth the hold time to call them for assistance.  ;)

JoseS-
Do you use .mac?  I got it with my G5 imac with free usage for awhile, but I've never bothered to do anything with it. Do you know if it is worth my while? It would be nice to have a place people could easily upload files for me and vice versa. But I've just been to lazy to open the box!

Highlighted MR BK - I have used to Social Security Index a few times, and it is very helpful and accurate.

Of course MBARNUM may have a contact for you, but you might also want to surprise Leslie with the books if you get her address.

But don't be afraid of the SSI.  It is very secure.  I think you can also send another amount of money and get a copy of the Social Security Card application for just about anybody.  It helps if you know the SS # - in fact I have Miss Allison Hayes' application filled out at age 14 when she was going to work at the Palias Royale selling linens to rich ladies in Washington D.C.

DR Rodzinski - I'm still in my free trial period for .mac too.  I'm thinking about getting it, but since I mainly connect via a dial-up connection, some of the 'higher' features would just take too long to use, if you know what I mean.

I'm also on AOL, and I actually like AOL.  I've never had any major issues with AOL.  <knock wood>  I've learned to use the "My FTP" space function for web pages and storage.  -Although, with .mac, I'd have a LOT more online storage capability.

However, now that AOL has reconfigured their mail server to be compatible with POP mail servers- which means I could sync up via Outlook/Entourage...

I have about six more weeks to explore it, and then I'll decide if it's worth the extra $99.

How's that for a definitive answer?

 :P

*Just go to the .mac homepage and start clicking around.  No need to open the box.  ;)

Thanks for the feedback Jose. The fact is, I haven't really NEEDED the .mac for anything in particular as of yet.

-Well, I believe you've answered your own question.

You're welcome.

I would mainly use .mac for the Virex service and the online storage.  I really don't need another e-mail address.  Just need to crunch the numbers.

TOD---
No question about it-- a French Dip.  It's been years since I had one too.

Tonight I went to L'il Mama's, a great little soul food restaurant. I had Southern fried catfish, red beans and rice, black eyed peas and cornbread.  They had peach cobbler and sweet potato pie for dessert,  but earlier in the day I got a piece of Oreo Cake which I'm saving for later.  Sticking one's head out the window of a Cessna at 6000 feet can make a boy hungry!

In looking at the materials for my Friday Media Check tomorrow, I was astonished to see that I'm going to be listing almost exactly the same items as last week. I think that's the first time that has ever happened.

I don't know about the West Coast, but I noticed tonight that SURVIVOR ran over the hour a bit tonight. I had finished WILL & GRACE and had flipped over to CBS for CSI, and SURVIVOR was still on (running credits) at 9:01.

Speaking of CSI, tonight's case had to be one of the most bizarre in the history of the show. Made the case with the folks in animal costumes having sex seem tame by comparison.

MR BK here is the link that Michael Shayne gave you - filled out with Leslie's information.

http://find.intelius.com/search-summary-out.php?ReportType=1&searchform=name

Scroll down and you will see "Buy all information on this page for 7.95"  There is no phone listed for her, but her address is available.  Small price to pay.   ;D

Give it a shot - and props to DR MS for finding it.

Rodzinski - I have very little memory of that bit, except that we only got two people to do it, and my IFB (earpiece) was cutting out all the time and I couldn't hear what they were telling me to do from the truck - which is why you probably see my head cocking to one side all the time.

If you want to watch the shows I wrote and produced, check out the first seasons, Alternative Medicine (I'm in it, too) and Sex.  They both reek of me, especially the voice overs.
