Can't help you with that one, BK. I did buy it and was very anxious to read it.  I just thought I'd take a stab at answering the question since no one else did and you promised not to be offended

Interesting take on it, Matt. I watched tonight and I found it interesting, but I think you're right. It's going to unfold so slowly that people will lose interest

It's a high quality show, and the cast is aces. Hank Steinberg, who also created WITHOUT A TRACE, is a wonderful producer and has come up with something unique. I'd love to see it prosper. I'll look forward to the ratings very eagerly tomorrow.

Perhaps, MR BK, it's an embarrassment of riches.  My purchase record would certainly show that I am more of a fan of the written word than the CD recordings...and of course financial issues make me choose carefully.

I guess I don't feel pressured or compelled to buy anything I am NOT interested in.  I don't discuss something in my posts that I am not going to buy....but there you are.

I saved PROJECT RUNWAY and CSI: NY for tomorrow. Since RUNWAY was the first part of two parts, I wasn't in any hurry to watch it. I'm sure next week,. I'll watch the finale "live."

I have no answer either.  But I would say those who don't check out this latest book are missing out.

The latest book arrived while I was out of town. Between the insanity at work and catching a cold I haven't started it yet. I will do that very soon

What a sad, sad story today.

AND now a late ASK BK (and other DR's) question.

Favorite Neil Diamond song and/or album.

I got his 20th Century Masters Cd today.  Some fine songs on it.  "I Am...I Said" (on the Cd) and "Love on the Rocks" (not on it)....are two of my favorites.  Is there a Neil Diamond song that Guy Haines would ever consider recording?

Thanks to those who answered - I'm very interested.  And anyone who doesn't feel like posting an answer can always e-mail me privately.  I just hope everyone knows that I'm just interested and am not castigating anyone, oh, no, I am not castigating anyone.  It mostly concerns Rewind, that's really the one that just baffles me most of all.

Well, I must try to get some rest. It was a long day, it's nice and cold outside (I really do like it cold outside)but I am also catching a cold (don't like a cold inside- my head that is).  So good night. Hope you get the answers you are looking for.

And I've got it with me always

Favorite Neil Diamond recording's got to be "Porcupine Pie."  Any song that mentions chicken ripple ice cream is tops on my chart.

Feel better, DR Cillaliz! At least if you're too sick to go to work tomorrow, you can stay in bed with a good book!  ;)

I don't know that I like any Neil Diamond songs.  Hmmm...

For anyone in the LA area, we're having a CD release party for Simply Sondheim on October 23rd - if anyone would like to attend, just drop me an e-mail or PM and I'll put you on the list.

Don't know the answer about sending mass emails, but I do know we get a nice response (congratulatory emails back and such) when we send emails about a free reading or presentation, while it's mighty quiet when we send emails about things people have to pay anything for.

I think there are people on the site who really can't afford to do that

And you wouldn't want them to have to write dirty books to be able to afford to, would you?   ;D

It's times like these that I hate living in Atlanta.

(OK. I hate it lots of other times, too.)

I can do a three book special for you - cheaper than amazon or anywhere else.

Only if you bundle it with this famous Bruce Kimmel tome from Amazon:

Land-water interactions: Effects of introduced nutrients and soil particles on reservoir productivity  by Bruce L Kimmel         (Unknown Binding - Jan 1, 1981)

I admit to being a bit leery of the "unknown binding". I only hope it isn't HUMAN FLESH!

NDSU library actually has the last book and I had to chuckle when I placed it on the cart... Bruce's secret life as a soil scientist!!

I never knew!

Right now I am overwhelmed iwth reading for work, class and a research project that I am a bit out of it for recreational reading. I still do intend to get the other two Kritzer books when things settle a bit.
