DON'T LOOK NOW is a good choice. That movie has such a creepy vibe.

MichaelS mentioned LEGEND OF HELL HOUSE. I can remember watching that as a kid, my older siblings were babysitting me, and they let me watch it. It got to my bedtime and I refused to go to bed, so the compromise was they would let me stay in the TV room, but they held a blanket in front of my face so I couldn't actually watch the last half hour. When the ending revelation happened, I still remember their frightened reactions and that scared me more than if I had actually seen the movie!

I had absinthe once at someone's holiday party. You have to burn a sugar cube over it to carmelize it or something. It was vicious going down the ol' gullet, but I had no wild hallucinations or bouts with madness. At least other than ones I've always had.

I have yet to see the Exorcist...I just don't think I would enjoy it!

I do recall TV ads for some horror films that used to scare the bejesus out of me...

The Ad for "It's Alive" ...I would have to leave the room or change the channel when it would come on..."There's only ONE thing wrong with the Davis baby... It's Alive." ....and then it would show that baby crib with the gruesome monster hand.

And the TV commercial for BEYOND THE DOOR really creeped me out too....I was shocked when I learned that Juliet Mills, who at that time in my childhood was on reruns of NANNY AND THE PROFESSOR was the star!

And...my brother Allen and one of his girlfriends took me and my little brother to the theater to see FEAR IS THE KEY back around 1972...the poster scared me to begin with, but when the movie started and that guy set those people on fire...well, I don't remember any more then that so either we left the film or I closed my eyes for the remainder...or maybe the rest of the film just didin't impact me the way the opening scene did.

It wasn't a horror film, just some action thriller...but that skull on the poster made it look so scary to a 7 year old.

I haven't seen the new production and it's been a LONG time since I saw Chorus Line. Where does "And" fall in the song sequence? I think it goes after I Can Do That and before At the Ballet. Am I correct?

Yes, John Carpenter's THE THING had me squirming in my seat for most of the movie. It runs third to ALIEN and ALIENS in the creep-out derby for me.

I watched three things on TV this afternoon.

I began with another CSI: NY episode from the first season boxed set. This second episode involved a death by lye in Grand Central Station. This was also the episode where series regular Vanessa Ferlito left the show.

Next came KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE. Sumptuous sets and costumes, but a very banal telling of the King Arthur story. And Robert Taylor was all wrong as Lancelot. He might have made a better Arthur than Mel Ferrer, but I'm sure he would never have attepted a British accent. But then, Ava Gardner as Gueneviere didn't try one either.

Staying in a Robert Taylor mood, I next began watching UNDERCURRENT with Taylor as a psychotic married to Katharine Hepburn. Only watched about 30 minutes of it (I've seen it before but not in quite awhile), but will probably not finish it until tomorrow.
