I have Showtime and a DVD burner. When is it on? I'll be glad to help.

Life After Tomorrow airs on Showtime at 8 p.m. Christmas Eve and at noon Christmas Day.

I have received several practical Christas gifts over the years which I have loved, including this here computer, the DVD, the TV, the surround sound system, the TV in my room.  I have told Vixdad that if he ever throws me out I'm taking all of my electronic Christmas gifts wih me!

The Vixter wants me to mention the Magic Bullet that she bought for me for Christmas last year.  Yes I love it and I don't use it as much as I should and I'll try and use it every day from now on... now go away and stop reading over my shoulder

Vixdad has had a busy day installing a new floor in our upstairs used-to-be-a-bathroom-before-the-disaster-struck and putting up the outdoor Christmas lights.

I'd say that the most practical I've ever recieved is the snowshovel that der Brucer gave me a couple of years ago.

And they say I'm not romantic ;D

And how is Vixter doing with PowerPoint?

Back from a brief afternoon at the office.  Terrible trouble getting a cab home, which is unusual for a Sunday.  Is it Christmas shopping time or something like that?

The office is right near macy's and I'm surprised cabs weren't trying to pick up fares at Macy's.

Does the Vixter need photos for her powerpoint? I have lots of photos, if she needs any -- landscape, bird, animal, etc.

Popping back in for a minute:

"Decorated" my tree this afternoon!

And I watched "The Young Philadelphians".  Quite a nice bit of entertainment with dynamic performances, tons of lurid sensationalism (circa 1959), and a great Ernest Gold score.

Paul Newman and Barbara Rush were terrific, and Robert Vaughn had a nice part, including a scene in which he chewed the scenery with a vengeance.  Alexis Smith also had a part in the early going and gave an homage to Patricia Neal's prowling-in-her- nightgown scene from "The Fountainhead."

I've also napped.

It's been quite a day!

Back from:

1.  Festooning our bannister with a lighted holly garland and bows.
2.  Edging the mantle with bubble lights (a tradition from DH Richard's childhood) and hanging the stockings with care
3.  Lunching with DS Richard at Panera Bread
4.  Shopping at Barnes & Noble and Starbucks
5.  Shopping at Kroger
6.  Chatting on the phone with my aunt
7.  Chatting on the phone with my mother-in-law
8.  Eating popcorn while watching our videotape of the first Librarian movie in preparation for the sequel this evening

Now I need to make my Fiesta Dip for a potluck at work tomorrow - I'll prepare the veggies in the morning.

Librarian II comes on in 10 minutes!

But you have a Roomba!

Yes, but I have too much clutter...so I either vacuum around the clutter or clean up all the clutter and run the roomba.  Truth be told, I'm not that sold on it.

I finished the SUPERMAN set with "All That Glitters" and enjoyed seeing the last filmed episode. And now, my SUPERMAN TV collection is complete.

Next, I watched SAN FRANCISCO. I watched the VHS of it some months ago and was hoping the DVD would be a huge step up. Frankly, I didn't think it was. I understand there is only so much you can do to make a 1936 film look polished and pristine, but I don't think Warners put much effort into this one. I saw a fair amount of dirt and scratches, more than I was expecting. Kind of a disappointment though I'm glad to have it.

I didn't watch the Gable documentary that is on the disc. I had seen it on TCM before, and it's pretty good, but I wanted to move on to another film.

Next, I put in THE PAJAMA GAME. I hadn't watched this in quite some time, the last of the films in the Doris Day box that I've gotten to. (I had already watched the previous DVD release, and this is the same one in a new case).

Looked pretty good. What an excellent movie musical this is. Stanley Donen is going to do one of those Robert Osborne/PRIVATE SCREENINGS interviews this week, and I'll be eager to see if this gets talked about much. I suspect it won't; it tends to get overlooked in his filmography despite its excellence.
