PAGE FOUR DANCE - THE CHRISTMAS WALTZ!

Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

And then there's the (tongue-in-cheek) Politically Correct Holiday Greeting:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, our best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. We also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the generally accepted calendar year 2007, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere, and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishes. By accepting these greetings you are accepting these terms. This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for herself or himself or others, and is void where prohibited by law and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.

I must now take a shower (where I'll take it, I'm not sure, yet ;)), then get dressed, then feed my cat, then wrap the last few gifts that I still need to wrap, then go to my sister's house for a while (she made cookies last night), then we'll all go to our parents' house for the opening of gifts tonight because my niece goes to her father's mother's house on Christmas morning and her father and his not-so-new-anymore family come over there, but we don't. :)

Right now, on the Showtunes Digital music channel, they're playing "Before the Parade Passes By," from the 1994 revival recording, produced by our very own BK! ;D

She doesn't seem to care about toys, so I just got her some new special treats and food. :)

I did have to go to the local market because I just felt I needed more butter.  I probably had enough, but better safe than sorry - I also realized I only had one bottle of wine left, so I picked up two more for any drinkers.

I jogged (difficult), and now I am ready to being chopping and slicing, not necessarily in that order.

Darrell Karl sent me his precis on the Skinner/Ripley album.  Last year, his most-played album of the year was New Guy In Town.

I'm having a kind of prolonged Christmas this year, too. My friends Jeff and Hal and I aren't getting together until Wednesday to exchange gifts, so there's more LOOT on the way!  :D

I finished FOR YOUR EYES ONLY this afternoon. I am not a Roger Moore/James Bond fan at all, but this and THE SPY WHO LOVED ME are most assuredly his finest hours as 007.

The mushrooms, onions, and garlic are cooking in a lot of butter.  It smells good around these parts.

That's four hours for the sauce to simmer and for the simmer to sauce.  Just right.

Next came SCROOGE, the 1970 musical version. I loved it as I always do, but I wept more at the end of the film this year than I have in past viewings. I'm wondering if getting older myself doesn't have something to do with these sentimental old films affecting me so deeply nowadays.
