Take Napoleon,
Our own little corp'ral
Take Napoleon
We were taught he was small
What we never glean
Is before Josephine
Ever came upon the scene-
Six feet tall

If you're ever thinking
A man may be shrinking
It ought to come as no surprise
Look for the woman
Who cut him down to size.

At five-forty-five the telephonic device rang and woke me up.  It sounded like someone from Lagaan telling me my limo was here.  I said my limo was not here since I hadn't ordered a limo.  He said "sorry" and I tried to go back to sleep.  Fifteen minutes later the telephonic device rang again, and it was the same gentleman telling me that I'd made an appointment for a limo and that I was a doctor.  I asked him what number he was trying to call and as he read it to me he said, "Oh, six not zero. Sorry."  I am now up and cannot go back to sleep.  On top of that, my limo isn't even here.

Now
As the sweet imbecilities tumble so lavishly onto her lap
Now
Though there are possibilities still to be studied I might as well nap
Bow though I must to adjust my original plan
How can I sleep half as deep as I usually can
When now I still want and/or love you
Now as always
Now, Anne

Ooohhh... Welcome to Page Three!

And in keeping with the Stephen Schwartz theme, everyone do the "Manson Trio" from Pippin!

*And does anyone know why that particular section was called "The Manson Trio"?

And how you're always turning back too late
From the grass or the stick
Or the dog or the light.
How the kind of woman willing to wait's
Not the kind that you want to find waiting
To return you to the night
Dizzy from the height
Coming from the hat.

The party's over
The candles flicker and dim
You danced and dreamed through the night
It seemed to be right
Just being with him
Now you must wake up
All dreams must end
Take off your makeup
The party's over
It's all over
My friend.

Good morning, all!  I slept far too late, then I had to catch up on last night's posts, then I had a phone call, and then I had sme coffee, and voila!

It's Write-A-Report Day!  That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Oh, the rain comes a-pitter patter
And I'd like to be safe in bed
Skies are weeping while the world is sleeping,
Trouble heaping on our head
It is vain to remain and chatter
And to wait for a clearer sky
Helter skelter I must fly for shelter
Till the clouds roll by

I'm in love with a man
Plaza oh double four double three
It's a perfect relationship
I can't see him
He can't see me

And since I like the second B-section of that song too:

And when the woman that you wanted goes,
You can say to yourself, "Well, I give what I give,"*
But the woman who won't wait for you knows
That, however you live,
There's a part of you
Always standing by.
Mapping out the sky.
Finishing a hat...

*In my copy of the piano/vocal score, the lyric appears as, "I give all I can give".  But both Mandy Patinkin and Daniel Evans sing the above lyric.  -And it even looks like that "I give all I can give" was pasted in after the fact - it even appears in a different font - a typewriter, in fact.  Hmm... ???

Hey, look me over
Lend me an ear
Fresh out of clover
Mortgage up to here
But don't pass the plate, folks
Don't pass the cup
I figure whenever you're down and out the only way is up

Because this girl I've never met
I get to meet tonight at eight

I chose and my world was shaken-
So what?
The choice may have been mistaken
The choosing was not.
You have to move on.

Look at what you want,
Not at where you are,
Not at what you'll be.
Look at all the things you've done for me...

--------------

Stop worrying if your vision
Is new.
Let others make that decision-
They usually do.
You keep moving on.

-------

Anything you do
Let it come from you.
Then it will be new.

Give us more to see.

She loves me
Isn't that a wonder
I wonder
Why I didn't want her
I want her
That's the thing that matters
And matters
Are improving daily

LOL DR JOSE - hearing that LP must have been fun for the kids.  I loved it when I was 12 and got it for Christmas!

They all laughed at Christopher Columbus
When he said the world was round
They all laughed
When Edison recorded sound.

"Move On", that is, not "She Loves Me".  Although, there are moments in She Loves Me that do move me too.

We're gassed up and headed for the Surfer's Route now
The guys are hot doggers and the honeys are cute.
Got a waxed board, woody, now baby we're on our way.

Easter vacation just started today now
We might stay till the middle of May now.

Come on, babe, to the Surfer's Holiday.

"Move On" and much of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE does the same thing to me, DR JOSE.

And if it weren't for HHW, I would never have even listened to it again, let alone BUY the CD and DVD.

The lyric that made me sit up in my movie seat and one I will NEVER forget and which became a mantra when I was eleven has already been quoted:

Some people sit on their butts
Got the dream, yea, but not the guts.

Hmm... So when I head back outside in a few to move the car back, should I just go to IKEA then?  Or... ???

*As I was about to go to sleep last night, I took one more look at the layout of my room that I had drawn up a few days ago.  And I double-checked the number of uprights and shelfs I would need to buy - I'm just adding on to the modular system I already have.  Well, of course, I suddenly thought of another way to arrange the room... So... After getting out of bed... Re-counting the shelves I already have... Taking out the tape measure... Re-drawing some plans... Etc., etc., etc...  But then once I started to try to a mental inventory of what's still in storage...  Basta!  I just had to go to bed.  So, I did.  -And then I remembered "The First Family" LP... So...

In any case... I think I'm gonna take a bit more time planning things out, and then I'll head to IKEA.  Well...

That's the plan for now.

Good morning!

Beautiful, fairly cold, January.

Really, not a cloud in the sky. Amazing blue color this morning.

Tuesday morning greetings!  Back to work today for my first 5-day week since the week of Dec. 4.

TOD:

When you pray for something and it's "no go,"
Don't come around with "I told you so."
Your prayer was answered.
The answer was NO.
