I don't think I've ever dreamed that I was in Mandalay.   :-\

There are 4 inches of new snow on my front porch. I was going to post a photo measuring it with my Happy Bear ruler, but I can't find a USB cable to hook the camera to the computer

I don't want to hear a thing about global warming from any camp that does not support a significant expansion of new-clue-yer nuclear power plants in the US and expanded off shore oil drilling to reduce US dependence on coal.

My understanding is that low-sulfur coal pollutes far less and that we have the technology to achieve less pollution from high-sulfur coal, as well. Do you have any insights into this? Coal is currently the cheapest form of energy in the US.

Yes, me, too. I think wind farms are great.

DR Ginny, what was the outcome of the Ohio water pollution?

Our difficulties only lasted until the evening of the day they were discovered (last Sunday).  The boil alert was lifted for our part of town, but I continued to use bottled water for a couple of days.  Earlier this afternoon, I drove past the corner where the water main had to be repaired and it was all patched up.

I'm back from a trip to Border's to use my personal shopping day (10% off) and my holiday rewards dollars, both of which were about to expire.  I bought 2 travel resources for Washington, DC (Frommer's 2007 and City Walks), a birthday card for our niece/goddaughter (who turns 18 this week), some half-price Christmas gift wrap, and my February book group book, Jane Glover's Mozart's Women.

Couldn't have had a more beautiful January day. The majority of the clouds cleared away, leaving just a few to have a blue sky with a few scattered clouds and highs in the 70s. Hard to believe California is not having what we're having.

I had what Matt was having! I worked out in the yard all day, in t-shirt weather, eradicating ivy that was damaging trees. I'm surprised how many different types of ivy there are, just in my yard!

Don't let your guard down---there could still be errant boils lurking around!

When we take I-5 to Los Angeles, a route we try to avoid, we pass the windmills.  They are kind of eerie looking.

Depending on which study you read there is no proof, or the windmills are killing the birds & improvements in wind energy need to be made to protect the birds.

I've a lovely bird in the oven, a six and a half pound roaster that I've basted with lemon juice and slid thyme springs twixt the skin and breasts.  Dinner should be ready in 40 minutes or so.

If anyone wants some, drive fast!

I remember HONEY WEST and Ms Francis and her co-star Mr John Ericson.

Part of the Friday night ABC lineup:

The Flintstones
Tammy (replacing The Farmer's Daughter, but NOT taking its place)
The Addams Family
Honey West
Peyton Place
The Jimmy Dean Show

No commentary here on GREASE:  YOU'RE THE ONE THAT WE WANT?  Or are people waiting for it to air on the West Coast so as to avoid spoilers?

I liked that they revealed it to the home audience when someone had real pro credits (like that guy who is in the Hairspray tour)
