Bollywood movie stars Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai are engaged and will marry later this year, the former Miss World's manager confirmed Monday, ending months of speculation about their relationship.

I was wondering when that would happen! Their romance has been in all the Bollywood movie magazines! (which of course I subscibe to! LOL!

Am awaiting an interesting region 2 box set of films directed by Douglas Sirk - finally getting Tarnished Angels on DVD in anamorphic widescreen.  Also, Has Anybody Seen My Gal, Magnificent Obsession, All That Heaven Allows, Written On The Wind, Imitation of Life and maybe another I'm forgetting.  I'm hoping that given the advances in transfer technology, that the All That Heaven Allows and Written On The Wind will be better than the Criterion versions, which were pretty early DVD titles.

Which is why professional athletes wanted to ban women reporters from locker rooms!

PS - I might note that in all my years of rowdy living, the raunchiest language I ever heard was when I shared a hospital cafeteria's dining tables with a bunch of female student nurses .

I have been in a few genealogy chat rooms where the chat got rather "cough" raunchy!

Early in my Internet days, when I had Web TV (those who've read Your Worst Nightmare in my book of short stories know from whence I speak), I went into various singles rooms (I can't remember what the chat room service was called - maybe IRC or something) - in one, I was invited into a private room with a girl and another guy - the room was called the Hot Tub room.  I wrote about this adventure early on in The Real A One From Column A days.  Perhaps Michael Shayne can find it and post it - it's pretty funny.

I know the new Breakfast at Tiffany's transfer is a cruel joke, color-wise, but if that doesn't bother you, it's watchable.  As I recall, Roman Holiday looks good, as does Sabrina.

Hmmm. It was my VCR who decided to eat Breakfast at Tiffany's. It broke the tape.

Hmmmm, I wonder if I could set the telly on black and white if it would be okay then. I loved Roman HOliday and Charade.

I just watched two episodes of an old series called BUCKSKIN and two episodes of RICHARD DIAMOND while transferring episodes of said shows to DVD for two of my interviewees.

It's over 100 degrees today.  It will be for the next three days at least.  I may as well be living in Arizona.

I think the bushfires have now been burning for 48 days!
