Some advice: never take it to a party.

Like others, I have a cold. I am taking Airborne, Zicam and when I remember, EmergenCee, but it's the Advil Cold and Sinus that makes me feel better.

I have a busy couple of days coming up, especially Friday.  I'm glad it will be busy, it goes a lot faster that way.

I did some more planning for the future today. I have to say I wish I had the $$ to do it now instead of 7-8 months from now, but such is life

My goodness. The top story on the news now is that a corrections officer at Florence was stabbed in the head. The weapon is still in his head, and he just arrived at a Phoenix hospital.

I have some of that, but I'm saving it for when I get a cough. Nothing helps me more when I get a cough

Thank you DRs Cillaliz and George for the anniversary wishes.  Richard and I just had a yummiliciious dinner at The Meadows.  For dessert, we brought home the apple pie that I "purchased" at the AAUW talent auction back in December.  What I actually bought was an empty pie pan with the name and phone number of a young woman who'd make the pie whenever I wanted it.  With all the Christmas rush and treats, I decided to wait until now.  It smells so-o-o-o good.

DR Elmore, The Meadows is not closed, not even for lunch - they're open 11am-2pm.

As in Jean Claude Van Daan?

Page Five Dance:

I loved the Monkees -- when I was in sixth grade.  They were big among the teen scene WAY back then.  Yes, they were "created" as a nod to the Beatles, and their TV show (which I watched religiously) followed the formula/style of "A Hard Day's Night" and "Help!"   I liked "I'm Not Your Steppin' Stone" and "I'm Believer."  Monkee Trivia:  Stephen Stills tried out, didin't get it, but recommended his buddy Peter Tork.

I loved codeine cough medicine when I was a teenager.  I thought I just felt so good because I had stopped coughing, not that I had been sipping on the stuff all day.

George, when does JUNO open?

It looks like we'll have performances during March 12-16.  But they'll be at non-traditional venues...the Olympia and Lacey Timberland libraries and the Lacey City Hall.  All the performances will be free.  I will post more details as we get closer to the dates. :)

Quickie report -

Der Brucer and I are back from Philly - already!

We went up there to see Matthew Bourne's Edward Scissorhands, at the Academy of Music.  Good seats, close but nottooclose.  The show?  Impressive, but it didn't bowl us over.  There were some missteps in the set-up of the storyline, missteps that led to a disappointing finish.  Still, it was impressive.  And, true to the movie the ballet is based upon, it did snow.  In the theater.  And it was real snow!  (I told you all that our seats were close.)

I'll let der Brucer launch his own critique later.  He's got some questions that need answering, that some of you may have answers for.

Oh, one more bit of Monkee Trivia:  I read that Michael's mom invented liquid paper (No, I didn't read it in the Weekly World News -- it was some reliable source as I recall, so I think that's true).  But the Weekly World News did claim Davy's dad was Big Foot....)....

After the show, we headed over to the Philly Borders.  The Tower that was caticorner to Borders looks to be a new media superstore, owned by a different chain.

Other than a Brit mag that has info on Doctor Who, Torchwood, and the Sarah Jane Adventures, we didn't purchase anything at Borders.  Dang, their prices aren't that friendly.  And Pennsylvania has sales tax.  Bleh.

Good Evening!

A nice evening at home with the roomies.  We're indulging in the Four C's: Chili, Cornbread, Coronas and Cookie.  -Oh, and ice Cream too.  Thankfully, we ate before we started watching "American Idol".  :-\
