Nino Rota's score for "Romeo and Juliet"  (the 1968 version) is to die for -- I love it, love it, love it.  It's theme song "What Is A Youth" -- ahhhhh!

Indeed - almost enough to straighten me out ;)

TOD:
Must think about this, but certainly agree with many of the selections listed above.

BTW, are any H/Ks familiar with the soundtrack to THE CHORUS? I liked the movie, but love the score. There are times when I 'm in a certain mood and no music but this will do.

Wasn't that a song by Sonny and Cher?

I have to say, I have not seen Manhunter which was the first attempt (by Michael Mann in 1986) to put the novel Red Dragon on film -- with William Petersen as Will Graham and Brian Cox as Dr. Hannibal Lecktor, but I've heard it isn't anything to drop and go rent.

It's not great but they shot some of it here in Atlanta, including a nice chase scene in our (then) new museum. I like Brian Cox in just about any film, and thought he did a good Hannibal. There were a few scenes in "Manhunter" that I liked more than "Red Dragon".

But Red Dragon, well, it's worth watching just to see Ralph Fiennes. Mmmmmmmmmm...

Are you on the list?

The "A" list or the "B" list?

Um...I'm on neither...

DR BEN this is the one I bought:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FB44VA/ref=pd_cp_e_title/102-4635991-9296953

but it is currently unavailable.  You have to attach the turntable to the mechanism with what looks like a big rubber band, but just follow the instructions and it's pretty easy.

The CakeWalk Pyro software is complicated and time consuming, and the BOOK is on the disk NOT a hard copy, but if you have patience, you can do ti.  :D

Good Afternoon!

Well... As I was getting ready to leave, the property manager called to ask if I was home, and if she could send over someone to look at the my non-working radiator.  And since I would like some radiant heat in my room...  "I'll send him over now."  Well... about 20 minutes later... the handy-man showed up, and he's been running back and forth between my room and the basement of the building checking on things ever since.

He wrote the score for the "real" Sacco and Vanzetti", and also (I think) for the Spaghetti western Edisaurus keeps longing for.

The REAL Sacco and Vanzetti? I would say a documentary would be far more "real" than a dramatic movie. BTW, the director of the film you mention, Giuliano Montaldo, is in our film---we interviewed him at his apartment in Rome. It was very challenging dealing with Italian electrical wiring and elevators the size of linen closets.

We use clips from that film in our documentary...it's one of the best dramatic versions of the story, but there were also French, German annd American versions as well.

I don't think Morricone wrote the music for Cipolla Colt, though. A B-movie like that probably would have been beneath him!

For some reason, I was once quite taken with the score from COMA and played it often.  But now I can't remember a note of music.

I forgot the song "After the Fox"
and the score to "The World of Henry Orient". I was thinking of that film a lot last week when I was walking around vaqrious parks in the city.
I also love "He Shouldn't-a Hadn't-a..." and André Previn's "Daisy Clover" score. Now I have to find "The Accidental Tourist" score...must be great!

Shazam?  Or Shazaam?

SHAZAM!

The wisdom of Solomon;
The strength of Hercules;
The stamina of Atlas;
The power of Zeus;
The courage of Achilles; and
The speed of Mercury.

It's the name of the Wizard who gave Billy Batson his power.
