My co-workers keep peeking into my edit room to see why I'm laughing my head off. They're enjoying their little glimpses into "The Brain"!

I don't think Morricone wrote the music for Cipolla Colt, though. A B-movie like that probably would have been beneath him!

You're correct - the music was by Guido and Maurizio de Angelis

As for the Oscar nominations, I'm really disappointed that Dreamgirls was not nominated for best picture or director, but happy about the nominations they did get, and hoping that we get to see full performances of the musical numbers by the actual castmembers and not some god awful medley sung by the popstar flavor of the month.

Also thrilled that Alan Arkin and Ryan Gosling were recognized.

And because Mr. Nick Redman can never figure out how to post here - I'll include on his behalf Mr. Jerry Fielding's The Wild Bunch.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW I would love to see the type of things Nick would post!!

The "A" list or the "B" list?

Um...I'm on neither...

I'll take Kathy Griffin's "The D List."

One of my favorite movie scores that is more modern is the live action Peter Pan by James Newton Howard. It is beautiful with lotsa chimes and bells and childrens choir's. I felt it really captured eveything I want to feel when watching peter pan, I can just fly away listening to it.

I'm thrilled Peter O'Toole is nominated -- he's among my favorie actors -- but alas one of my other favorites Forrest is up against him and is the odds on favorite to take home the prize.   Oh woe is me.  How do you choose among your favorites?....

Okay - so here's the story -

So the class goes like this - we watched a terrible movie from the '80's, called UNDER THE INFLUENCE... we'll discuss the movie (well, probably not the MOVIE - but the subject of dysfunctional families torn apart by alcoholism). The following week, a 700-1200 word paper is due on alcoholism. At which time we will watch

email me if you need any help ;D

Re: last night's HEROES.

Things i loved:

1.the haitian and claire meeting

2.claire having zach film her powers so they can be friends again (i'm really happy about this. i did not like it when they were not friends).

3. hiro, ando, simone, nathan and isaac meeting at the loft. So funny, especially hiro saying "flying man"!

4. peter.

things i did not like:

1.niki in jail

2.the whole niki/jessica thing (except the end, that was cool).

3.matt raiding the building only to find nothing.

Just okay:

1.hiro looking for the sword (there was some cute stuff in there)

2. the invisible man (not sure yet what to make of this).

Btw, is "are you on the list" the new "save the cheerleader, save the world"??

I'm awake to find there is no god.  I buy Oscar nominated songs.  and "Dreamgirls"!!!!!.  Unlike DR TPunk I am very pleased it did not make "Best Picture" nominations.  If people enjoy the film that's great but ........

I'll be hoping for the songs by Mr Newman and Ms Etheridge to win.

I have no opinion on any of the Best Picture nominations since I haven't seen any of the movies yet.....but I intend to rectify that immediately, if not sooner....four of the films I am looking forward to...The Departed I am not so sure of...has anyone seen it?

As for the foreign films...I have WATER on my netflix queu...but the others don't seem to be available yet...except for Pan's Labyrinth...which looks like something I would not like...but maybe I will see it anyhow.

I saw the departed, it was entertaining, although not their best work. Jack Nickelson is worth watching....Pan's Labyrinth was a lovely movie, a very interesting blend of fantasy and reality filmmaking elements. I liked it very much. Even for those who don't like the silly fantasy bits, it has enough brutal reality to even it out.

Germany's The Lives of Others is fantastic.

"DreamGirls" got the most nominations...and I don't mind its not receiving a Picture/Director nod.

What it really deserves is acting Oscars for Hudson and Murphy.

I called.  It was a recording thanking me for calling and saying all operators are busy.  It invited me to enter any extension I might have for the party I was calling, or I could press (1) for one department, (2) for another department, (3) for yet another department or (4) for any other questions I might have.

I hung up.
