Vibes for a peaceable working solution with Turner for Edisaurus.

Thanks, Rodz!

I sent them a list of my "demands". I told them the afternoon masseuse and 3 shot skim latte as negotiable...

I couldn't resist:

PENNY:
When a girl meets boy,
life can be a joy,
but the note they end on
will depend on little pleasures they will share;
so let us compare.

I like New York in June,
how about you?
I like a Gershwin tune,
how about you?
I love a fireside
when a storm is due.
I like potato chips,
moonlight and motor trips,
how about you?

I'm mad about good books,
can't get my fill,
and Franklin Roos'velt's looks
give me a thrill.

Holding hands at the movie show,
when all the lights are low
may not be new,
but I like it,
how about you?

I like Jack Benny's jokes.
TOMMY: To a degree.
PENNY: I love the common folks.
TOMMY: that includes me
PENNY: I like to window shop on 5th Avenue.
TOMMY: I like banana splits, late supper at the Ritz, how about you?
PENNY: I love to dream of fame, maybe I'll shine.
TOMMY: I'd love to see your name right beside mine.
PENNY: I can see we're in harmony
TOMMY: Looks like we both agree on what to do
BOTH: And I like it, how about you?
TOMMY:
I'm so delighted I've ignited the spark within you.
Let me continue to make it burn.
PENNY:
With you I will be like a Trilby,
so let's not dally.
Come on Svengali, I've lots to learn.
TOMMY: When you're arisin', start exercisin' daily.
PENNY: For example, just a sample?
TOMMY: Bend and touch the floor fifty times or more.
PENNY: Ha! A fine start to be a Bernhardt!
TOMMY:
A dictionary's necessary but not for talking,
it's used for walking the Ziegfeld way.
PENNY: Is this OK?
TOMMY: That's the trick, you're catching on quickly.
PENNY: Should I take a bow?
TOMMY: A-ho! Let me show you how!
PENNY: Just like partners on the stage.
TOMMY: If you can use a partner, I'm the right age.

Re: monday's MEDIUM and some comments other DRs made.

.
.
.
SPOILERS from monday's show. Don't read if you don't want to know.

I see what DR RonP meant when he said he'd like more family and less solving the mystery by dream only.  I do notice when the girls are absent on an episode.  But i guess sometimes i'm unaware when the mystery is solved mostly by dream.  Alison did do a bit of stuff while awake (she went to the guy's apartment a few times).

I think my favorite part is when alison figures out who did it but we get to watch how that person gets their due.  It's not always obvious (pawn shop this week ...)

As for the other dead guy and the body parts. I think they showed a newsclip saying that the parts were found buried outside the house.

SPOILER ALERT for Medium:

DR jane ~ Yep, it was a TV clip of the wife being put in a cop car as the reporter talked about the body parts being found, so the wife got her due.

Re MEDIUM - SPOILER question

Anyone have any thoughts on the notion in the episode (voiced by the guy who got chopped up) that the girl would have appreciated that the shy guy was watching the girl for so long and cared so much about her?  I found it creepy, not remotely romantic.

SPOILER ANSWER -- Medium:

Yeah, creepy (like the little boxed baby below...)... oh, and...

SPOILER ALERT -- The Graduate;

I always loved this movie, but when I watched it again not long ago, Benjamin comes off as a bit of a stalker now when he follows her to college...(he was hapless and romantic when I saw it as a teen, but now in my 50s I had to fight the creepy vibe to try to keep thinking hapless and romantic...)

DR George - Well, maybe you guys could at least have a party on the night when Juno was supposed to open.  -Any excuse for a party.  ;)

*I remember playing for a community theatre production of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas many years ago, and due to "technical" <wink, wink> reasons, they had to cancel the opening night performance.  However, since everyone had already bought their food and drink for the party, they still held the party.  And it was a great party!  Since we didn't have a show, it started at 7:30 instead of post-show at 11:00.  More time for merriment!

I think that that's a great idea...to have the party on the no-longer-opening opening night.  AND how's this for coincidence...on Saturday, Joshua is auditioning for role in a local production of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (which would not have conflicted with Juno and the Paycock).  Weird huh?? ;)

Right now I'm listening to Manhattan Transfer Live, a concert from 1978 recorded at the Hammersmith in London.

I love that recording, except the officially-released-in-the-US CD has some audio problems...at least on the copy that I have. :P But I have a copy of the CD that was only released in Japan years ago and it sounds wonderful.  I don't know what could've happened.

DR George, I'm sorry to hear about JUNO not happening.  But you are on a roll right now and I'm sure you will find something else to do soon.

Thanks!

I love Glynis Johns' rendition of "Send in the Clowns," but I was blown away by Angela Lansbury's version. I really love hearing it sung with just a bit more vocal prowess than Glynis, but for that moment in the show itself, Glynis was sublime. I saw the original production, and that moment gave me chills. (So did "The Miller's Son.")

I was searching youtube.com yesterday and came across a video of "Send in the Clowns" sung by Zarah Leander, a German actress, in 1978.  The video portion is just a bunch of photos of Zarah from her career, but the song is very well done.  I made an audio recording of it. :)

There's also an occasonal sound of something being dragged and, perhaps, a sofa bed being opened.

Dead bodies being moved about then stuffed in caskets?

Just a thought.

Good Afternoon!

Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning.  A bunch of receipts and junk mail labels shredded.  The old dresser is now on the sidewalk for the trash pick up - or for anyone else who may want it.  And the heat in the kitchen/dining area is quite wonderfully toasty.  Now, I'm just waiting for the guys to come back to fix the radiator in my room.  But since I have to head to midtown in a bit to meet my friend, Paul, from Florida....

In any case... I need to get ready to head out...
