Jose, who have you played for at auditions?

Or is that  a question I shouldn't ask?

You can ask it, and I can answer it.  I'm just making sure I answer it correctly.  So...

Basically any one of the auditionees who auditioned for "Grease: YTOTIW" in New York City.

JRand- Did you have a short, but sweet visit with Molly?

Miss Karen & Cason-The coffee table story is darling.  When you are famous it will be a great story to retell on the talk shows.  I enjoyed reading where Cason’s name came from, very interesting.  It is nice to have history behind a name.

Jose, so sad about the young woman.

Of course, if this was a real Broadway audition, there would be an anal retentive monitor at the door announcing each actor/actress, and the judges would be eating Chinese Food and checking their Blackberries.

I actually remember Derek from some of his early SETC auditions when he was in college, so...

I'm not sure he would remember me by name, but he might recall my face, my playing.   However, I have a knack for remembering faces (and the songs they sang).

I've a pot roast in the oven, and der Brucer has You're the One That I Want playing too loud on the TV in the next room.

The show makes me want to barf.

...If anything, it's always nice seeing someone's name, someone's face in a Playbill, press release, ad.  It's nice to know their hard work has paid off in one way or another.

I would think it would be fun to see someone progress from one audition to another. Do you see that sometimes?

Here's a pic of the type of knife safe I use:

They come in 4", 6", 8" and 10" sizes.  They make it easy to store knives safely in a drawer, and they also make it easier to travel with your knives too.  I blame Alton Brown for turning me on to them.  -Williams-Sonoma usually has them.
We need to get word to Alton that he can blame you, in return.

Edi, can you make the contact?

DH Richard is actually watching the Grease thing with me and wants to know:  Are they really singing or lipsynching?  I hate the accompaniment tracks - I'd rather hear Jose playing piano.

Yes.

And I also see people stay the same.  And sing the same song.  And ask me if I know the song.  ("Well, since I've played it for you at least ten times in the past year and a half..."*)  For years.

And I also see people decline.  For years.

They're really singing.  It's hard to lip-synch flat and off-key.

As for the accompaniment... There's a live band on stage there, but, I have a feeling like they used to do for "Star Search" and even "American Idol" (from what I understand), the band records the tracks earlier in the week, and then basically fakes it on the live broadcast.  The reasoning being that it insures that the sound mix will be correct, and that it provides a consistency for the live performer.  :-\

bk - If you really want some Must-Not-See-TV you have to tune in to see Juliana's video profile...  about 1:35 into the program.

So... How are they going to pad the last 20 minutes of the show?

This could get scarier.

I really don't get why she wants everyone to think she has very little experience.

HA!

I just checked out Juliana's bio on the site to see what fun facts she/they are sharing about her. Under training:

Acting: 4 months

???
That's the total amount of time she's been on stage, with all the time she's been offstage snipped out.  Rehearsal studios don't count, either.
