On a clear day
You can see page seven
It's so close yet so far
On a clear day
Seven would be heaven
So let's get off page six now
And reach for the star
You are posting
Yet the page remains the same
Where's Jose
Well, I must say
That he's the one we'll have to blame
On a clear day
On a clear day
You can see page seven, then fourteen, then sixteen, then twenty
And then lots more.

my name was on a list ... of people who do this sort of thing.

Hmm.. wonder how many of us are on some list or other of people "who do this sort of thing" ::)

Ooops! I hit the wrong key and all sorts of strange things happened.
Well, I was saying that I am indeed altogether TOO SERIOUS today and will lighten up. (I can hear BK saying, "Yes, DO!!")

Those individuals therefore feel a greater threat than they did previously. In my view, prior to 9/11 many people were in denial--and THAT has changed.

Well, on some issues - but then consider:

Number of unintended pregnancies
STD epidemics
Drunk Drivers
Teenagers starting to smoke
Not wearing helmets or seat belts
or, a BK favorite, driving while phoning.

Where is the Fear when we need it?

Then there is the misdirected fear:

after 9/11 these was much discussion of the danger of flying, little discussion about the danger of being in a high-rise.

Edisaurus, I guess it has been a LONG time since I watched the Cartoon Network...last time I checked they were showing Yogi Bear and the Flintstones.

That's right! They now have a whole 'nother network devoted to such things, called "Boomerang"---cartoons from the baby boomer era:

Well, must agree with you. Let me ask you this: since much (but certainly not all) of the bad behavior you cite is generational, do you think that the under-30 crowd is more reckless today than in the past?

Was that because of the weather, DR Michael S?  Are you OK?

The weather is fine. Typical south Florida weather.

Although I do have a backache. Other than that, I'm Okay

DR GEORGE - my DaVinci DVD had no problems on either Disc.

Thanks.  I don't know what could've happend. :-\

I have no problem with THE DIVINCI CODE DVD.

I don't have it, so no problem.

Well, thanks for checking! ;)

DR George:

My DA VINCI CODE DVD played just fine in three different DVD players. First saw it at best friend John's house, and then I've watched it two more times on different players at my house.

Thanks, too.

Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow this morning, so Spring is right around the corner.

It's global warming, I tell ya!  It's the end of the world!

I enjoyed Aqua Teen Hunger Force for awhile a couple years back. The little guy, Ignignokt was a rude little alien who appeared on just a few episodes. He and his buddy Err were primitive 2D video game-looking guys whose hubris was at odds with how primitive they looked. They would threaten to attack with the "Quad-Laser" and it would just shoot a pathetic little video pellet like an early Atari game. They were kind of amusing.

This idiotic stunt is a function of idiot marketing people running wild.

Actually, that's what people have been saying today.  I don't remember the exact stats, but it was something like Phil having not seen his shadow only four times during his first eighty years as the official Groundhog, and then not seeing it eleven times during the past twenty years.

So yes, it does all add up to Global Warming.

Had a quick lunch and then I had to do my usual Friday errands like visiting the bank and mailing some stuff and then shopping for groceries. I'm always so glad when those chores are over for the week.

I started my afternoon of viewing with last night's MY NAME IS EARL. Earl was trying to make amends with Pierre, a French citizen who was once a foreign exchange student whom he treated shabbily.

Pretty funny in spots, especially Joy and her usual screwy view of things.

The actor playing Pierre was eeriely similar to Sasha Baron Cohen playing the French race car driver in TALLADEGA NIGHTS.

Next came a funny episode of THE OFFICE where there were two showers in anticipation of next week's wedding of Phyllis and Bob Vance. A Ben Franklin "enactor" was the "stripper" at the ladies' party while a real female stripper was hired for the men's party. All of the Ben Franklin stuff was priceless, and Michael's growing discomfort when given a lap dance was also very funny, especially when his guilt caused him to call his girl friend to confess his "sin."

And, of course, the continuing saga of Jim, Pam, and Karen has all us fans wondering what's going to happen next.

SMALLVILLE had another fun episode revolving around Clark's brush with red kryptonite, always an eye-opening (and sexy) experience when "Bad Clark" comes out to play.

Finished out the afternoon with last night's SCRUBS, a not especially funny outing revolving around Dr. Kelso's and his tendency to slack off of doing any actual work. There's a man in a lot of pain and disapppointment if the writers would ever dig beneath the surface of his sarcasm and indifference.

I shall not be on my way to work with Miss Yvette Lawrence, owing to the fact that she called and has no voice.

....so......how did you know it was she?
