....................Not for him!

Speaking of old, I'm now off to the funeral of a 91 year old gentleman who was one of the benefactors of our chapel preservation effort.

My French friends said "You're spending your birthday going to a funeral?" I told them that I was just happy it wasn't mine!

I'm up, I'm up.  Got up about forty-five minutes ago, and had a telephonic conversation, then caught up on the posts.  Just what up was doing on the posts is anybody's guess.  Anybodys is always guessing and she's rarely right - in, out, let's get crackin'.

I remember enjoying a one-act double bill of Murray Schisgal's The Typists and The Tiger, which I saw with Eli Wallach and Anne Jackson.

Forgive me for being e & t over the last week, or so.  I think I told everyone that I had been asked to join the cast of DIARY OF ANNE FRANK, and that I had accepted the role.  We open next Friday night!  The rest of the cast had a three-week headstart on me as far as finding their characters and learning their lines.

The last few days I have spent being beaten and shoved around by Nazis -- This had nothing to do with ANNE FRANK, just one of my kinkier secrets.  ** KIDDING! **  This is the 1987 revised ANNE FRANK that does include the appearane of the Nazis in the final scene.

One-acts. I once was in Durang's FOR WHOM THE SOUTHERN BELLE TOLLS, which was fun.

I saw one twice over the last couple weekends called THE STAND-INS about two guys who are stand-ins for Johnny Depp and Al Pacino on a movie shoot. It was very well-directed and acted.

Happy Birthday! You have been a fantastic addition to this site from the day you showed up.

Hooray and thank you! I hope to meet you and DR TPunk and other NY DR's when we come up for the S&V premiere in March.

Now I've donned my funereal Do-Mi-Don't Duds and will be off to convey sympathies.

Yes---I think that I will do is cut it with the P/U and attach the alternate at the end, just so you can see it. But that's Act 2, so I'm not at that point, yet. I'll be working on a plan (10) this weekend to get it into some form of viewing for you.

I am honored. She was one of the funniest people I've ever known.

She once flew from Ohio to Maryland to visit us and held a frog in her hand for the entire trip, knowing we would be thrilled to see it. As soon as she arrived and showed us her find, it was released into the house, never to be heard from again. Errant and truant evermore!

Ooh - Larry got to be "all sticky wet" every night on stage.

Hmmm...I don't know from one-act plays.

You might start with some shorter full length plays.
I think you'd like "P.S. My Cat is Dead"; it's sort of "A Weekend at Larry's" play.

der Brucer.

I have this surreal vision of Larry tieing Barnum buck-niked to the kitchen counter!

Feel-Good news of the day (getting harder and harder to find)

Stray Dog Rescues Georgia Woman From Crash

Quote
Saturday , February 03, 2007

THOMASVILLE, Ga.  —
A bruised and battered south Georgia woman credits a wayward German shepherd with rescuing her after her car careened down an embankment, tossing her through the rear window and leaving her sprawled, cut and bleeding, on the vehicle's trunk.

Thirty-six-year-old Shannon Lorio said the dog, which has since been given the name "Hero," pulled her by her collar off the trunk and dragged her about 50 yards through briars to the edge of a highway and let her lean against him so that she could stand up and flag a passing motorist.

"That dog is always going to have a special place in my heart," Lorio said Friday during a tearful reunion with the dog. "He's my hero."

She had her first reunion with Hero yesterday, when she arrived with her mother-in-law with gifts for the dog, including a large pillow, a stuffed animal and a bone almost as big as a rolling pin.

When Lorio returned today, she hugged and kissed Hero as he plopped down on the pillow and began crunching the bone with his strong jaws.

She said — quote — "If he ever needs anything, I'll be there." She said she can't adopt Hero because she already has six dogs.

If it were me, I'd go for seven.

Two people in the jernt?  You'd think it was a beautiful Saturday, which, of course, it is, at least here in the City of Studio.

My EMail chuckle for the day:

Quote
I need a favor!!

My neighbor has a puppy he's giving away (FREE!).
It's a Dachshund, it's house broken, and it's great with kids.

He's giving it away because his wife says the dog 'stares' at her when she is undressing ,

and that gives her the 'Heebie Jeebies'. I think she is just weird !

If you're interested, or know someone who is, let me know.

Here's a picture of the dog.
