I wonder if it is pronounced:

Scor-PEE-doz

or

Scorpy-doz

Neither. It is an obsolete experimental operating system developed by Micosoft called Scorpi- DOS

der Brucer

It was "biting edge" technology

Can we bid on each of you separately?

It's a matched - or unmatched - set.

Rant of the day:

One of my co-workers is returning today from a three-week vacation.  Sadly, we learned at the last minute two weeks ago that her mother had died.  I attempted to send flowers on behalf of my work group, but I was too late to get anything done in time for the funeral.

A couple of my co-workers indicated they would just do something personal for her when she returned.

This morning, however, I ordered a basket of African violets be sent here and I instructed the card indicate it was from all of us (not by name, but by our group name).

I let others know what I'd done and told them it was their choice whether to participate or not...that I would have done it alone anyway.

A couple of folks thanked me and anted up.

One person, however, said, "Does she LIKE African violets?"  The tone was challenging.

I replied "I don't know.  I think it's the thought that matters."

I got a "look" and nothing more was said.

I say it here:  Some people can go straight to HELL!

Rant over.

Ron, I meant to comment on this earlier.  I think you should send the pain a lovely vine: poison ivy.

Very much so.  I didn't mean for them to make her sad, but she wept.  Once composed, she went to each office and thanked each member of the staff.

To me, she said, "I know it was all you."  I replied, "We all wanted to do something."

"Cutting Edge":  it's like "state of the art"; what the hell does it actually mean?  On TOP CHEF, Gail Simmons called a chef on the "Cutting edge" of some cuisine.  Tonight I heard an ad for "cutting edge" software.  It's a food, it's a floppy disk.  It's a bore.

I don't think that many people are aware that colognes and perfumes are made from weeds because they are both cheap and plentiful. These are the same weeds that cause an array of allergic reactions. So that person who complains bitterly about the ragweed--or pollen in general-- is actually introducing more of the same into the environment by wearing scent.

This site tells you how safe your perfume is:

I actually have one, but it's from the 60s and is hopelessly outdated.

So did Martin Luther King.

And like bk , DR George, and others here on HHW, I just have to way too much stuff.

Feel my pain. I have been in my "starter home" for 27 years. And being a service brat, once I finally stopped moving and had my own place, I figured I'd never have to get rid of anything I didn't want to. My DH is as much of a packrat as I am so it's going to be quite a chore moving...and one reason why it hasn't happened yet!

I'm sure the Macbeths will weigh in shortly: she loves to spread bad tidings.

We will have to give you enough good vibes and tidings to keep the bad at bay!
