There are about five circling now. They go over the house, then east.

It is the route DR Sandra took to preschool. Maybe someone tried to take her chef hat and she gave him what-for.

I'd like to see somebody try. Grr.

I didn't....what happened?

Oh, they - Rosie and the other gals - were discussing the Snickers commercial during one of the "Hot Topics" segments.  That's all.

BK, my uptempo suggestion is "June is Bustin' Out All Over" -- music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Leslie Uggams

Also, there is a song I heard that goes "Flash, Bam, Alacazam!" that seems like it would be a lot of fun to sing.

I like that title UH, UH, MISS UGGAMS.  Sounds like it belongs in the canon with NO NO NANETTE and YES YES YVETTE.

Not that it really matters but:

Beyond The Sea  1959 (Bobby Darin)
Bridge Over Troubled Water (1970)
Tin Man (1974)

I'm sure that last title would be "just Mimieux!"

Well, if we can do early 70s, I suggest "Gimme Dat Ding"!

Was anything ever more uptempo?

Possibly "Hooked on a Feeling"?

You sing bad words in another language to the tune of whatever you're supposed to be singing.

Just in case somebody missed it, and then later discovered they couldn't find it anywhere, it looks like Rhino has pressed some more copies of "Finian's Rainbow".  Nice price, too!

Angel-A is a region 2 DVD, as are The Go-Between and whatever else I got yesterday.

How did you know I was going to ask that, BK? Oh, you probably figured that when I couldn't find it at the video store I'd then ask you. You're a step ahead of me--as always.

I need recommendations on two items:

1.  A good, non-oil, non-fragrant skin moisturizer (for my hands)

2.  A complete THE MAGIC FLUTE recording.

Good Afternoon!

Well... Since I think I left the power supply for my keyboard down in the few boxes that are still in my parents' basement...

DR Jeanne - How close are you to Merrifield?  ;)

I'm in alexandria, down near the river.

I've checked!  I've got problems.
(Thank goodness I'm nowhere near Sydney - not to be confused with FJL's cousin in Philadelphia)

(I probably have the city and the relationship wrong!)

I believe the ::) was more a comment on the fact that I was watching "The View".

As for the discussion, it was interesting.  They had actually showed the commercial on the show yesterday, and Elizabeth thought it was her favorite Superbowl commercial.  -And I was actually surprised that Rosie did not make a comment about it at the time.  However, in the meantime, GLAAD had e-mailed Rosie...

I began my afternoon viewing with last night's CSI: MIAMI episode. I had read ahead of time that one of the regulars was going to be hurt, and since Alexx has had the least exposure to the outside and injury, I just assumed it would be she (and it was, kind of). Of course, the biggest shock was saved for the final sequence when another took a bullet. A surprise but I know he will be fine. The actor is not leaving the show. The last time an actor on this show was killed, it was pretty well known he was going to be written out of the show early in that season (Season 3). I also knew it was going to be a two part episode, so the cliffhanger wasn't a surprise either.

To be honest, I was hoping Natalia Boa Vista would be the one injured; she is BY FAR my least favorite character on the show, but as she was just promoted to regular this season, I figured that wasn't going to happen.

The topic may be too limited in appeal but DR MBarnum and myself would have no problem listing ten favourite instrumental hits of the 60's (excluding movie themes).

It was the decade for such music. Mike has already listed "Classical Gas".

Where are you Jeanne?

We finally got above zero here for the first time in nearly a week!

A virtual heatwave... Break out the bathing suits!

DR DAKOTA CELT,
You, my dear, are much hardier than I. I am a California girl living in Virginia. Normal winters I'm fine--I learned how to shop for a WARM coat (went up to Canada and a couple Canadians showed me what to look for) and now have most of the gear. But yesterday and today our temps and wind chill are the lowest they've been in 10 years, plus my house is drafty. I feel warmer today and even ran errands comfortably (thank God for my car's heated seats!). Also, this winter the temps have bounced around a lot--one day it's 70, then next it falls to 30. Much better when the temps are consistent. I do think a lot of it is knowing how to dress and having the right clothes. I need to invest in a warm hat.

Perhaps you could send me that moose DERBRUCER invited in?
