Well, you've read the notes, the notes were filled with French kissing and Spanish hickey-giving, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently French kissing and making beautiful MOOsic.

Valentine's Day greetings!  My workplace is closed today until 1pm, the appointed end time for the brownbag lunch.  I've spent the last 45 minutes emailing the speaker and registrants to cancel the program.  My other meeting for this afternoon has also been cancelled, so it looks like I'll have another day at home.

Good morning, DR Vixmom!  Unusual for us to be the only ones here, especially at this hour of the morning.

Because of the 1/4 inch of snow and the icy rain, the poweres that be have delayed the school day today by one hour so I decided to hop on and say Howdy to all you lovely people out there in the dark

I wonder if women are enjoying the harriet/matt storyline more than some of the male DRs here.  Because I am quite mesmerized by it. I really liked this week's show. I think these two have huge chemistry. And I was really interested to learn their backstory. I think re: harriet/luke and matt's hatred of him it sure explained a lot.

And re: last night's AMERICAN IDOL.

*
*

By the end I was completely frustrated.  We've never even seen more than 50% of the final 40. I just hate that.  To me between all the auditions and the hollywood show we should see EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE TOP 40.  At least we will get to see a lot of them tonight. But still. I think it totally sucks.

And while they did follow up on a few audition stories was anybody else slightly confused and frustrated by the last scene with the indian brother and sister. They didn't even show one second of them last night. So how are we going to know if the sister deserved to go home or not???

And then we had to sit through some really horrid performances (that girl who was so obnoxious with the big curly hair - she was the only one in her group to leave after groups). I hated her!

And some of the ones that were so good in the audition rounds (like that girl from NY who lied to her father about auditioning). They cut her without ever showing her in hollywood.

I really don't think they should cut people after one song. They should rate them and then let them sing again. But it would be nice if they showed us all our favorites from the audition shows.

And then they cut so many of the favorites. I loved that country girl baylie brown. Yes she forgot her lyrics. But i totally believe she would have been top 10.

And that bearded guy who was so good at auditions. They never even showed him sing last night.

Then there were many people who were good at auditions who seemingly got through last night (the indian brother, the guy who had a baby). Yet they did not even show them singing one note last night.

I'm really disappointed with them showing weeks and weeks of the crappy auditions and then we get one show for hollywood????

Oh and i totally agree with DR MattH. It is totally unfair that some people have never been seen before. America already has their favorites. And if a contestant has not been shown they will have  a much harder time.

The snow is nothing much, at least to this old Minnesotan. It didn't stop my office from being open. Many schools are closed.

Mornin' Vixmom. Any performances for the Vixter?

Oops, I was just a trifle too late for Vixmom. I was catching up, after all. There were many unread posts from the previous evening.

Mornin' Larry and Jennifer.

Good morning, all!  If I had a Valentine's card to give, it would go to  every dear reader on this site.  That's how much I love you all!

On the Kubler-Ross front, my dad cntinues his decline; Jo Ann was up most of the night with him, and this morning, shortly before I awoke, she and Randy had to strip, clean him, and bathe him from several nocturnal accidents.  Occasionally in life we come upon saints but I never expectedto find any in my family!

Jo has the feeling that today he will die, and this morning I held his hand, told him I loved him, that I would take care of his estate as he wished it, not let the Macbeths pull any crap, and that he had my permission to die.  I don't know if he heard me, but I feel better for telling him that.

Last night, Randy, Jo, and I watched AMERICAN IDOL, which I hadn't seen since Season One.  I still think it's a crock of nonsense. Then we watched HOUSE becasue it's vecome Jo's favorite tv program.  Josh Stamberg, whom DR MBarnum and I saw on the street in the Village, was the guest star on a date with Lisa Edelstein.

I have no questions for BK today now that I know the reason for the Valentine's Day inquiry yesterday, but who's heard THE BRAIN CD?  I want one!

Good morning, good day.

Just let the dog out of her pen.  She was in her house, and my guess is that she will go back there.

Since genuine Southerners DRs MATTH and RLP have weighed in on the authenticity of Ms Olympia Dukakis' accent in the film version of STEEL MAGNOLIAS, I will stop complaining about it.

But I still don't like her line readings.

He had my permission to die.  I don't know if he heard me, but I feel better for telling him that.

Larry, you did the right thing. As odd as it may sound to some people, letting the dying know that it's OK to leave sometimes eases the journey for all involved.
