Pippin is now a thing of the past.  'Nuff said.

Jekyll and Hyde is now the main focus and so far things are going well.  There is also the remainder of Lent and the planning for Easter that's always exciting.  In regards to J/H, we're having a good time keeping the show in a Victorian Era - especailly with the sound of the show.  Trying to smooth out the pop ballads and maybe do a little re-orchestraiting when it comes to rhythms and things like that.  My goal is to keep it in the Victorian era and not transport us to the 1990's with ballads like "This is the Moment" and "In His Eyes" - and the dreaded "Someone Like You" - it will definately be something of a "Phantom Lite"  :)

Are you keeping "Dangerous Game"?   -Talk about an interesting orchestration.  -And all those offstage voices - ???  (Which aren't really indicated anywhere except in the P/C score - at least when I did the show.)

Well, I guess we did okay.

The review in The Lexington Herald- Leader thought the "TARTUFFE performances stellar"...

About me specifically:

"And Charles Edward Pogue as the Tartuffe-enamored Orgon is nothing short of brilliant.

"Perhaps his intimate relationship with the text helps him on this front, for in addition to acting in the production,Pogue penned the adaptation of this Moliere classic.

"Pogue's language sparkles with color and is ripe with crisp cleverness, making versatile leaps from theological discourse to the basest of juicy double entendre.  The ensemble cast proves more than up to the task of its delivery."

"...a fantastic cast and a first-rate adaptation..."

Hmm... good question.  That's on my list of things to go over tonight.  I'd better get a hold of a script and check it out.  Thanks for the heads up

[Aside: She Loves Me is my favorite non-SS show.]

And your favorite SS show might, we presume, be "Springtime for Hitler"?

Guess that's enough of my HHWer break (it always makes for a fun break to see what wacky things you have all posted) -- time to get back to discombobulating...

How about a LOBSTER Quadrille?

Why it's a young Edisaurus being guarded by the neighbors. ('sauruses emerge fully clothed from the egg).

RE: last night's TAR

SPOILERS

DR Cillaliz, i guess we really do see things differently. Because love them or hate them i can't believe anyone would not think romber was the most competitive and strongest team.  And i really did not think they got to where they were by lying and cheating.

When you are one of the last two teams, are you supposed to tell them where the route markers are placed. That is ludicrous.  And we don't even know for sure that the taxi they took was the one mirna called. I really feel like rob and amber got first place 3 times was because they are hugely competitive. And they work well together.

It's weird but i never let reality shows get to me. Even when rob and amber lost the million last time it didn't really affect me. But last night I just felt so icky after the show was over and even today i do not feel good.

And DR MattH, when i said the show would not do as well without them. I did not mean ratings wise. I think the show will not be as good. We have to listen to mirna rant on. ANd we lose the best team. It was definitely too early for them to go.

I didn't mind Rob and Amber as much this time....but I don't like the idea of ALL STARS on a reality show in the first place.

Mirna and her partner Charla are irritating and I hope they are gone soon, too.

The Amazing Race does depend on skill and strategy - but it is luck, too.  Making the right decisions, listening, and asking the right questions.

Romber would have probably been in second or third place if Rob could spell....  I guess I just know too many people like Rob and Amber, with a feeling of entitlement - and I don't deal well with them.

If they were the strongest team, they would still be there.   I won't miss Rob's smugness at all.

I hope you don't stop watching TAR, DR JENNIFER.

I would guess that someone else will grow on you.  I have always liked Uchenna and Joyce.

I didn't watch the first season with Ian and Terry, and they may turn out to be tougher than people think.

Still lots of legs to see!

Which reminds me, I need to spend some more time with "The Complete New Yorker" on DVD.  I'll bet there are quite a few vintage print advertisements there that are quite a pip.

GOODBYE YELLOW BRICK ROAD

Thousands turned out on Saturday for the Roxy’s last gay dance night.

Last Hurrah for a Gay Playground

Quote
A good number of men on the dance floor went with a bare-chested look. This typically included barbed-wire tattoos encircling their biceps, dog tags around their necks and baseball caps with curved bills, such that a visitor unaware of the event taking place might have thought he had walked onto a set where somebody was reshooting the volleyball scene from “Top Gun.”

An MBarnum production?

RE GREASE.

There was one thing i think i forgot to mention in my recap.

The only interesting thing about the show is to hear the criticism of all the judges. Well for some reason this week they decided to skip that and only let us hear from one judge. What were they thinking????
