Good Evening!

And my day of lethargy continues...  :-\

I think a part of my fatigue comes from the cold or whatever I've been fighting since last Wednesday.  While I was in Atlanta, I was dealing with some sinus stuff and minor chest congestion.  And now that I've actually had a day off, it's decided to runs its course.  I'm generally feeling OK, just a bit tired, and my throat is a little sore from the coughing.  I suspect I'll be heading to bed early tonight in order to be fully rested - and recovered, hopefully - for tomorrrow's rehearsal.

Thankfully, I still had a box of Lemon Echinacea Throat Coat Tea in the cupboard.  Very soothing.

And I also had a Mini MoonPie earlier (nuked for about 10 seconds).  That was quite good too.  ;)

-They were giving them away at the conference in Atlanta as a promo item for next year's host city, Chattanooga.  They boxes(!) of them.  So I took about a dozen home for me and m roommates. :)  -They also had Choo-Choo Train Piggy Banks, Choo-Choo Train key chains, and Chattanooga Cell-Phone Covers!

Proboscis is a word that EVERYONE should know.

It is not used enough.  I say that proboscis should enter the lexicon and be used in place of any other noun....

No.  I did however read on another site on a blurb on GREASE: YTOTIW that the fashion-challenged Ms Marshall is a friend of Austin's "roommate" and has all but promised him the role.

Well, it's time for me to leave and go to my sister's...maybe.  I'll call to see if she needs me to come over.  Fortunately, my DVR is set to record tonight's CBS comedies, so I don't have to rush home first.  Have a good evening (or night), all!

We will be here at that time. At this point Mr. Morelli has no summer work lined up so we will be in the city for the summer.

Is your Mr. Morelli any relation to the Morelli who confessed to committing the crime attributed to Sacco and Vanzetti?

I have been told some news and, as always, I want you to be the first to know - the Creature soundtrack will be announced by the end of next week.  It will not be on Kritzerland - it's on a soundtrack label and it will be a limited edition of 1000 copies.  I haven't decided and/or ascertained whether I'll sell it on Kritzerland's website, but right now I'm sort of doubting it.  If I don't, you will all be the first to know where to order it from and when.

I've been proofing the notes and packaging and it really looks great.  I wrote all new notes covering the entire history of the film, and there are lots of never-before-revealed details included.  The CD itself is jammed with stuff - the entire score as heard in the original version of the film, alternate tracks, alternate Creature vocal, demos of two of the songs, sing-along Karaoke versions of the songs, and four minutes of Broderick Crawford doing lines that never ended up in the film.

Ok, you people. Tell me if I am imagining something here or not.

I remember in South Pacific that Bloody Mary says "Chinchy bassa" several times. But when I watched the movie, I heard her say "Chinchy stinker." Granted, I kept falling asleep during the movie, but I backed up and didn't see where she said it.

You were not imagining it. Stinker was a substitute for bastard (bassa) the times being what they were.

Was the Hayes office still running things back then?

The score is by David Spear - I never wrote any dramatic music for the film, just the songs.  It's the entire score,  plus the songs, plus the incredibly rare (and thought lost) alternate Creature vocal, which is completely different to the one used in the film, plus the never-before-heard demos - it's really fun!

I had to come and help out the House of Payne show tonight. They ordered dinner from a restaurant called Gilbert's, which featured this item:
Pork Shank Popsicle with hot & sweet sauce--$9.99.

Nobody ordered it but I *was* curious...

When I was shopping at Walgren's (nothing but the best for me) yesterday; I saw that they carried cans of Honey Mustard & Onion Cashews!  I saw only their own brand, so I don't if Mr. Peanut has jumped on the bandwagon.

Sounds like the "Chicken Popsicles" some high-concept tapas places are featuring.  -It's still a Buffalo Wing to me!  Although, this Pork Shank Popsicle could also be a relative to the Filipino crispy pata - which is a deep-fried pork leg.  You end up with crispy skin (basically chicharron) and some very tender morsels of pork underneath.

Here's a more appetizing picture:

My godmother's Filipino restaurant in Arlington, VA, features crispy pata on the weekends.  I didn't think I would like it the first time I tried it, but once I realized it was basically chicharron, fried pork rinds (which I like), I dug in!  -It's usually served with peppered vinegar on the side to help cut the unctuousness of the pork fat.
