SOMEDAY MY PRINCE WILL COME

Frogwatch / AP

A cane toad the size of a small dog was captured near Darwin, Australia, Monday. The animal measures the size of a football and weighs about 2 pounds.

Look out, Tomovoz!

Our distributor also distributes a wonderful doc on them:

Imagine if Monty Python did a nature documentary and you'll get the picture. It's wonderful!

That's what happens when non-native species are introduced to an area. Always a bad idea.

That's why we have kudzu and Hawaii has the polka vine. And there's another thing...a thing I have long considered as a subject for a short documentary. After being on HHW for a while, now I think the subject should be adapted as a musical.

I finished my afternoon with another full length film - THE LITTLE PRINCESS with Shirley Temple.

I love this film---the scenes in the hospital always make me cry!

I saw a presentation of a musical version of the comic strip KUDZU.  Does that count?

Okay, I've done close to seven pages and I think that's that for today.  Maybe after rehearsal I'll do a little cleanup.  I should be able to wrap this chapter by mid-day tomorrow, and then I know what the next chapter is, so I can at least start that.  And I can print out the latest fifty-some pages and get them to Margaret.

Was it aggressively invasive? If not, it wasn't *real* kudzu!

Okay, time to take a little poll.  I have in storage boxes of CDs I've produced, both for Varese and elsewhere.  I would really like to thin out the stock and I've been thinking for some time about how to do that.  A certain label has basically let everything go out of print (I suppose you can still order direct, but most copies on amazon are from private sellers).  So, is there any interest if I make these titles available at, say, ten bucks each, only to people on this here site (not via Kritzerland).  I'd publish a list of the available titles and payment could be made via paypal.

Yes, but could we pay by check (or cash) if we don't have a Paypal account?

Of course.  The problem is there will be limited number of copies available, and how do I control that?  There would never be more than twenty copies of each CD listed.  Any ideas?

I would be very interested, but I think you need some kind of lottery system when you have multiple buyers for one item to be fair and all.

DR Laura, are you sure it was EDWARD SCISSORHANDS that you found disturbing?  It never struck me as that kind of film.  What bothered you about it?

In a way, until you learn why -- and if you can get past the hands, it's really a touching movie about being different and an outcast, but finding acceptance and love.   I loved it -- plus, Tim Burton does some cool and interesting stuff with sets, costuming, lighting, colors, etc., in his movies.

Thanks for the ticket info Edi.

Yes, Bruce, I would be interested in seeing what was available. $10 a pop is a great price.

I find the whole black makeup, black clothing, dead-looking, scissorhand thing creepy.

TOD:  Your standard mom and volunteer stuff -- (and more committee work than I care to admit -- I'm a volunteeraholic and need to learn to say no... but there are so many things I'm interested in...):

PTA or PTO (whatever they're calling it now), Choir Boosters, etc.

Church Boards (ironically, I've seen some of the worst behavior on those...)

Art boards -- The Bosque Conservatory of Fine Arts in Texas and the Prescott Fine Arts Association here in AZ, The Tin Building Theatre in Texas (and we called to let folks know if they did or didn't get a part...it's called being polite/manners)

The Bosque County Memorial Museum -- and some city and county committees back in Texas

Back from a wonderful dinner with my wonderful friend, Chris.  We laughed and laughed and laughed till we couldn't laugh anymore.  And then we did laugh some more!
