We had a dumpster delivered today to dump the remains of the barn the cinderblocks, etc. My DH was concerned that the weight would break the driveway. I hoped we would get a small drive off dumpster truck.

My DH was right and now the driveway is cracked, a magnolia limb destroyed--and who knows that else. Argh.

Even though I don't have a favorite exploitation film (I love so many) here's a goodie I need to add to my collection.

I'm sure Stanley Kubrick must have seen this before making EYES WIDE SHUT. To me, SIN IN THE SUBURBS is better than the Kubrick's, which seemed insufferably pretentious.

....didn't you ever watch the late, late show or the afternoon movie when you were a kid?

Those of us who did not have pampered childhoods had after school jobs - no time for afternoon frivolity. (Had to hustle the bucks to pay for the evening jaunts to the movies where things were in color!)

I am on the giant shuttle bus with about 20 other people all heading to the Portland airpot. The bus is equiped with wireless internet!! Isn't technology interesting?!

Thank you for the travel vibes. I certainly appreciate it.

I don't know if I like this laptop very much. Windows Vista constantly downloads updates and then reboots whether I want it to or not!!! I was in the midst of catching up on the posts and wham, everything went dark.

And I have no idea how long the battery remains charged in this thing. I guess I will learn.

How much inquiry did you make into this laptop before buying it?  Please don't tell me it came in a Crackerjax box or you got it with trading stamps!

PS Safe flight, DR MBarnum!

BK: in regards to seeing LA on film -

"SHARK", the CBS legal show with James Woods has had some great HDTV shots of LA - recently some neat footage of the Disney Concert Hall (and also lots of "local" color footage).

If no one has made exploitation films since the 80's, what do you call this film from 2007?

(Starring Anna Nicole Smith!)

This contractor is a dear friend. Oh well. I'm sure we would have replaced the driveway...eventually.

I say "sleazy trash! "(The film as well!)

Lookie at the production credits:

Anna Nicole Smith ....  associate producer
Daniel Smith ....  associate producer

der Brucer

And great dialog:

Rex: [Lucy and Max have been captured by Rex, but are refusing to cooperate with her plans] I have something... a little special for the occasion.

Max Sperling: What is it? Some kind of mind control serum?
Rex: It's much better... mind control suppositories!
[Reveals two large red and white supppositories in her hands. Lucy and Max react in horror]

Isn't Judi Dench in this?
