Good morning!

Looks partly cloudy outside this morning. Pleasant temperatures, and I had a wonderful night's sleep, so it should be a good day.

DR der Brucer:  Interesting! I did not know that Wendy Carlos had formerly been Walter.

I had my first computer in 1985 and within a year or two, I had a modem (300 baud which I quickly replaced with the fast 600 baud model) and was on a network called Fidonet. There were many dozens of newsgroups on FIdonet, and I was heavily involved in two of them - GREASEPAINT and FILM. Eventually, I became the moderator of both of them. GREASEPAINT was a group of gay men who talked musicals of stage and screen (this is where I first met up with DR Michael Shayne). FILM was exactly what the name suggests it was and by far one of the busiest forums on Fidonet.

Today I will be watching the Japanese film VENGEANCE IS MINE. It's 2 hours, 20 minutes, so it will occupy most of my afternoon. I will also watch the rest of RENO 911! which I started last night and ENTOURAGE since it is only 30 minutes. That should make up my afternoon viewing slate.

Someone mentioned last night they were going to prepare meat loaf for today (was it you, DR Ginny, or was it DR Laura?) At any rate, it was a great suggestion, and I'm going to prepare that for my lunch today, too. Haven't had it in several weeks, so I'm looking forward to it.

Larry, do you know if there are any landmarks at which we can meet at Grand Central at 3:45?  If not, maybe just the rightmost part of the ticket window area?  (I haven't ridden out of Grand Central in several years.)

More like escapades, no doubt...

Is that a euphemism for arrests at the Actor's Home?

Tonight, we have a mix of old and new on TV. Fox, of course, has new episodes of IDOL and HOUSE.

ABC is showing the BOSTON LEGAL episode that got preempted last week.

CBS has new episodes of NCIS and THE UNIT before rerunning a crime drama at 10.

NBC has a new DATELINE before reruns of both LAW & ORDER shows.

THE SHIELD is new, of course.

See! Doesn't that look yummy?

As with Thanksgiving, the leftovers in a sandwich are usually at least equal to the main event!

(not an intentional Babs reference)

Wendy

Wendy's ageing quite nicely; when I used to see her at parties in the 1980s - she was a friend of my pianist friend Bennett Lerner - I thought she had looked better as Walter.  She's looking much better now.

Just because we carry the bloody damnable things doesn't mean I'll be serving them to you.  I prefer to cook from scratch, as you bloody damnably well know.

I trust, der Brucer, that the "last word" has been HAD on this subject!

Tuesday morning greetings!  Back at work today after 5 days off.  It's always difficult to come back, but especially when you're as tired as I am after this weekend's conference.

Yes, DR MattH, I was the one who mentioned meat loaf last night.  It's ready for DH Richard to put in the oven.

I think there's ancient graffiti in the Pompeiian ruins about our TCB!

I am very much looking forward to the return of VERONICA MARS with the self-contained episodes. They should be very interesting to see.
