(until the dual identity incident)

Hmm...  If DR der Brucer were posting in dual identities here at HHW, what other DR could he be?

Hmm...

Original IBM PC used an Intel 8086 Chip (PC-XT used an 8088)

The next generation was the IBM AT  using the Intel 286 chip; followed by the 386, then the 486, then the Pentium series.

AT was IIRC the first Windows capabae machine.

der Brucer

Now I remember...at least, about the 286, 386, etc.  Thanks for the info. :)

Good Afternoon!

Well... We had an amazingly wonderful 10:30AM school matinee.  The 400 (give or take a few) high school students had to have been - well, they were - our best audience, so far.  They got everything. And the things they didn't get... Well, they weren't meant to be gotten.  They were quiet. They were attentive.  They did not start squirming at the two hour mark.  The laughed at the good jokes.  And they let the not so good jokes just go.

The three young ladies who sat in the front row - right behind me - summed it up the best: "This is freakin' amazing."

Dilemma of the Day:

WORD PURGE

Quote
Hip-Hop Mogul Russell Simmons: Ban 3 Racial, Sexist EpithetsTuesday , April 24, 2007

NEW YORK —
Hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons said Monday that the recording and broadcast industries should consistently ban three racial and sexist epithets from all so-called clean versions of rap songs and the airwaves.

Expressing concern about the "growing public outrage" over the use of such words in rap lyrics, Simmons said the words "bitch," "ho" and "nigger" should be considered "extreme curse words."

I guess Ann Coulter and Isiah Washington are still free to use the "F" word!

And the "talk back" after the show was very good too.  Some good questions, and some good and creative responses from the cast.  ;)

I was amazed at the number of the students who knew Eartha Kitt from her voice work on "The Emperor's New Groove", but also from her appearances as Cat Woman on "Batman"!

DR JoseSPiano, those kids better behave themselves, or I'll give them what-for!

Alas, I believe some of them would like that.

I know I would.

DR FJL - Before you go...

Dinner reservations have been made for 5:15.

The tickets are at the Box Office under "Moore".

Have a good train ride up to Westport.

I believe it was July 4th, yes...probably about 5 to 7 years ago?  In the streets of the commercial area near the entrance to Williamsburg proper?

Did we have a "LOST" encounter in a past life?  :)

Hmm.. I'll have to check with Steve (my ex, and still very good friend) about this.  I think he had a concert down there that year - he plays for one of the Men's Choruses in Richmond.  Hmm...

But if you were down there the same weekend... I'm wondering if that was you I spied in the kitchenware section of the The Pottery.  ;)

The Dressing Room has a very good meatloaf.  But since I had a hamburger and a hot dog for lunch - we had a post-show cookout! - I believe I may try the monkfish tonight.  Or just a large side of their "maccherone and cheese". :)

I hae had dreams with credit rolls and music at the end of them. I wonder what that means?

That just means... Well... Maybe it's better that you don't know what that means.

What flavor FREEZE did you have?

Or was it a Dilly bar?

Forgot to mention: I viewed The History Boys on DVD last evening.  I had not seen the stage production, so can't judge the adaptation, but for me it was a very satisfying film.  Well written, and well acted.

Plus Dominic Cooper and Jamie Parker (he's my favorite History Boy) in a towel!  Alas, not the same towel, but in a towel nonetheless.

*And, I have to say, I was mightily impressed by the musical and pianistic skills of the cast of The History Boys.  I was sort of disappointed that Jamie Parker's piano playing was not represented on the movie soundtrack.

DR Jose - Glad to hear that the high school students behaved themselves and got into All About Us.  I remember fondly seeing The Skin of Our Teeth with a group of my HS classmates at Wayne State University in Detroit.

Sure would like to be on that train with DRs Elmore and FJL this afternoon!

Actually, I would have gotten a "Blizzard".  Now if I were in Los Angeles right now, I would have gotten a "Freeze" from "Foster's".  Although, I do like a good ole hot fudge sundae every now and then, and even just a plain ole Dip Cone is good too.

Alas, since I will be dining with DRs FJL and elmore in a few hours, I decided to forego the DQ trip this afternoon.  -They were also planning on stopping at Compo Beach today too, which would have put my return to the theatre a little too close to the dinner reservation.  So...

Right now, I'm enjoying the air-cooled comfort of the Green Room, and "Little Miss Sunshine" is on in the background.  -They have a nice flat-screen TV here.
