I've been expecting the UPS delivery guy ALL DAY and he has been nowhere in sight.

This always seems to happen when I'm anxious to get something that the tracking site indicates is "out for delivery."

Hmm... I just finished watching last night's "Idol", and now I'm watching NBC's "The Today Show's" coverage of last night's "Idol".

-Has a show ever garnered so much coverage from competing networks before?

The "thing" about this is that Fox has no morning talk show....so it's ALL GOOD as far as the other networks are concerned.

Having Sanjaya or whoever on your show draws viewers!  Not as many as does "American Idol", but....

I heard someone speculate on the TV Guide channel last night that the show's numbers might start dropping "now that Sanjaya is off the show."

I wanted to bitch-slap the little twit.

"It's been a baaaaaaaaaad day!", he said sheepishly.

I assume your mean "pissed-off/pissed-on" bad day, not an "I've benn soooo baaaaad" day/

Before the day is up Keith’s mother will be moved to the short term section of a care facility.  Hopefully they will take good care of her, provide decent tasting food, and give her PT so she can go home soon.

It’s amazing, it we hadn’t asked for this transitional care she would have gone home today.  In her weakened state the woman can barely move let alone get to the bathroom on her own.

These are the Damned....I have only seen it on an afternoon movie program MANY MANY years ago.  It is the first movie I remember seeing Oliver Reed in, but I liked him very much.

Is this DVD a Region One DVD that is being released, or are we being deprived again here in the US of A?  I can't find anything about it on the Internet.

This is from that batch of DVDRs I got the other day.  I don't know of any plans for this film on DVD - a shame.  It's quite strange and wonderful.  I can't really go into how these DVDRs came to be, only that they are of amazing quality and all anamorphic and in their original ratios.

New Airline Offers $10 Tickets on All Flights

Quote
Skybus Airlines Inc., a new U.S. budget carrier, on Tuesday said it will start flying on May 22 with $10 one-way tickets available on all flights.

"Beginning today, passengers can buy airline tickets for less than the cost of a tank of gas," Skybus CEO Bill Diffenderffer said in a statement.

The launch of the new low-cost carrier, which is based in Columbus, Ohio, could pressure established carriers like AMR Corp's (AMR) American Airlines and Delta Air Lines Inc..

Skybus, which plans to acquire more than 70 aircraft over the next five years, hopes to be able to undercut rivals by selling advertising space inside and outside its planes and charging for priority seating and checking bags.

It keeps costs down by only taking reservations over the Internet and not staffing a call center.

The start-up carrier, which has raised $160 million from investors, will have at least 10 seats available for $10 on its flights through December 15. The $10 tickets don't include taxes and fees.

Last-minute fares run as high as $330, spokesman Bob Tenenbaum said.

Skybus plans to fly initially from Columbus to Burbank, California; Portsmouth, New Hampshire; Richmond, Virginia; and Kansas City, Missouri.
On May 29, it plans to add service to Bellingham, Washington; Greensboro/Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and Fort Lauderdale.
In June, Skybus plans to begin flying to Oakland, California.

I'm waiting for Greg to get done with his shoot. We're off to the Atlanta Film Festival. (He has 2 films in the fest this year.)

Tonight is a documentary about Stranger Malone, a local musician who is listed in the Guiness book of World Records as having the longest music recording career. Sadly, Stranger passed on last year at 95, but he was amazing--could play almost any insturment in any style--classical to bluegrass, and had an amazing memory. He was still taking the bus carrying his intruments, from Rome GA to Atlanta, well into his 90's

When stranger died, they found him sitting up in bed with a book in his lap. (He was a voracious reader and spoke several languages.)

The name of the book: "A Live Well-Lived".

What a great restaurant speciality item:

SING A SONG OF SIXPENCE PIE

Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie.

No two species alike!

Good Evening!

-Back from dinner with DR singdaw and his mother.  We went to "Bombay" for Indian food.  Alas, I don't any of us ended up ordering any of "Martha Stewart's Favorites".  ;)  But we did have a wonderful meal, and it was great meeting DR singdaw's mother, and spending some more time getting to know DR singdaw himself.

Musicguy thanks BK for the hickey.

Indeed, YES....our dear Grande Mensch greeted everyone with a big kiss...... but only I was bestowed the special gift of "the everlasting hickey!"   And I am back in Phoenix, and I have already been to a top dermatologist to have a very rare and exotic treatment, which will assure that my "special Mensch mark" will never fade or go away.

It's kind of like jewish stigmata !  ;)

DR Ginny - I believe the reading for 9 to 5 will be by invitation only.  I've been interesting in seeing it too, and I've worked for that casting agency before, so...  I'll see if I can see if there will be any public seats available, but I have a feeling that since this will be the first presentation of the material on it's feet that it will be a "closed reading".
