DR Danise.  There is no one way or approach that is right for every situation.  You will have to trust your instincts.  It sounds like you are doing the right thing.  It will be difficult, but you have your own strength, plus the vibes and support of many who care for and about you.

Peace-

OH...

DR Danise - Just in case you happen to have a chance to check in here...

I know that you are asking for VIBES, and they are most definitely heading your way from all of us here, but I just want you to know that you are probably much "stronger" than you think you are.  With all that you've been through the past few years with your mother - and with yourself - I'm confident you will make it through this understandably difficult time.  Heck, anyone who can come to New York City for the first time, and manage to have a good time and make some good friends in the process is most definitely "strong".  *And you even "survived" my Eating and Walking and Eating and Walking Tour!

We are all here for you.  And we will be here for you.  But we also know that you will be there for your mother during this time.  Just remember to let yourself cry.  And breathe.  And don't feel bad if you take a few moments to take care of yourself.

~~~~~VIBES~~~~~VIBES~~~~~VIBES~~~~~
What a very lovely post, Jose.
Well, he DOES squat to pee rather than lifting his leg, so...who knows?  :)
 ;D I'm hoping Sherlock never lifts his leg, I hate that.
The folks who put out The Creature Wasn't Nice were there, selling CDs.  Because I gave them that project for nothing, I do get to come home with lots of CDs for free, so that's always nice.  I got about fifteen interesting things today.  I visited with some dealer friends, but it was just a fairly dreary affair - I mean when Henry Winkler doesn't have a line, then I just don't know what.  I'm sure it will be more crowded tomorrow - unfortunately, the Happy Days folks won't be there.
BK, do you know Mr. Winkler?
I've eaten my steak, which was quite yummilicious in the extreme.  I sauteed up some mushrooms and onions and dumped them on top.  I'm through proofing for the day (did about forty pages) and am now happily sitting on my couch like so much stuffed fish, watching a motion picture on DVD.
Couldn't agree more!
And as far as exposing myself, I am not sure.  I'm sure that'll be covered tonight - but I have to say at this point, I'd doubt it.
What will be covered?
As long as it does not lift its leg! ???
DR Danise, I just wish that I could be there with you now, so that you could have a shoulder to lean on whenever you need it.  Fortuantely, that is the thing that the people of Hospice do so well.  Listen to them Danise, and learn from them.  But always remember that they are standing in for all of us here who love you and send you our prayers.
François, perhaps you could have your room service people make a small delivery?
There's no room-service here at night; I'm the only employee watching over 69 people tonight!
Oh, well; someone has to do the job! :-\ ;)
No room service - I've just called in the Porter to entertain me.
Not to be confused with The Night Porter (a Dirk Bogarde) reference
And Charlotte R. showed up at your door instead of Ethel?!
Should one begin the beguine before or after lunch?
Perhaps the former would be considered unseemly - with either Ethel or Charlotte.
I'll leave the comments on that to DRs Musicguy and Jose who may be able relate to similar situations.
Now the decision is whether to watch a normal DVD or another one of these splendidly splendid DVDRs.
Why watch "normal," when you can watch "splendidly splendid"??
I'm going home now to watch regular TV.  I will also need to move some (all??) of the boxes out of my living room into my garage so that my parents and a friend of theirs that they've known for more than 35 years can visit tomorrow.  I'm such a procrastinator and I always do things (especially like this) at the last minute. :-\
But, why change now?? ;)
Evening, all!
