DR Danise i think you are doing great. You had a difficult decision to make.

I'm curious though what others think about the doctor forcing her hand (saying they would tell DR Danise's mom the truth if she asked). On the one hand she is their patient. But on the other you have a loving daughter who asked that she be the one to tell her.

I don't know why, but i was very surprised that the doctor said she would tell.

I was just asking because while i think they are hilariously entertaining, i could not see you rooting for someone who is quite obnoxious.

I do sort of like charla though.

The doctor has an ethical obligation to inform the patient, the wishes of next of kin notwithstanding. Allowing next-of-kin the chance to break the news first is a courtesy.

Jennifer I think they doctor is required to tell. And with hospice it is difficult not to. I'm very glad they also said Danise's mother would not be allowed to go home alone.

Before heading out for lunch I managed to watch a couple of things.

I began with COLD CASE. It was a very moving episode concerning the death of a young millionaire to a brain tumor which was discovered not to have been by natural causes but an injection of morphine into his IV. One of the best ones of the season from an emotional standpoint, and the identiy of "Louise" and the flashback to that story had me in tears.

I had the cable box on HBO-HD, and when COLD CASE ended, HBO-HD was showing HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE, so I watched about 25 minutes of it waiting for my friend to pick me up for our lunch date. I saw from the fight with the dragon to about the middle of the Yule Ball. Always enjoyable to visit with these folks.

When I got home, I thoroughly enjoyed last night's episode (#5) of THE TUDORS as the King continues to move toward either an annulment or a divorce. Hasn't happened yet, but it's coming. I was surprised about the early death of Henry Fitzroy. For some reason, I thought he grew to be a young man. I must really read that book by Alison Weir soon!

Next came ENTOURAGE, a good episode showing Ari's jealousy over an old fraternity brother who, after years of doing nothing amazing, lucked himself into a fortune and is now living the high life.

The story with Drama pissing off the UFC champion was very predictable.

I began RENO 911! but only got about 7 minutes or so into the show. The sequence with the escape artist in the park was hilarious.

I have just sat through 7 hours of seminar talks, demonstrations, in-depth "break out sessions," and giving one small presentation myself. In the immortal words of Charlie Brown .......

I haven't had to think, be alert, and respond at this pace for most of the past year. I'm beginning to wonder how I used to do it ??!?!!

Good Afternoon!

Well, we ended up having a nice turn out for the auditions today. It wasn't "crazy", but a lot of "good options" came in, and we were able to take our time checking out people's strengths and weaknesses - since they want cast the remaining roles ASAP.

I was done around 3:30, and then took my usual stroll from 34th Street up to Columbus Circle. Gorgeous day!

Alas, it seems the warmer temps have brought out some of the "crazies" as well as some people's tempers. While walking up 9th Ave., I had a few close encounters of a not too pleasant kind. -Yes, that one gentleman did not have an actual samurai sword in his hand, but trying to walk around him as he went through the motions was still a little "tricky" to say the least. -And then there were the four construction workers who were getting into a pretty heated "discussion" under some scaffolding. Of course, I and a few other passers-by were "caught" under the scaffolding with them for a few moments. And one of the guys seemed like he was willing to involve anyone and everyone in the brewing fight.

Ah, New York City! Gotta Love It!
