Good Evening!

Well...  I ended up seeing "Hot Fuzz" tonight.  What an amazingly smart and funny movie!  It's been a long time since I've laughed that much during/at a movie.

It spoofs/parodies/pays tribute to most of the action/thriller/conspiracy/buddy/etc., etc., etc. movies of the past 20 or so years.  -With a particular "fondness" for Jerry Bruckheimer.

I highly recommend this movie.  However, I will say there is some violence and gore, but it's funny violence and gore.

-And there's even a great "scene" from Romeo & Juliet too!

-And an amazing cast too: Jim Broadbent, Bill Nighy, Timothy Dalton, etc., etc., etc..

I've sometimes (but not often) wondered if it were still possible to buy a "Baby Ruth".

I only know of them from the 1956 song by George Hamilton IV  "A Rose And A Baby Ruth"

I'm looking forward to seeing "Hot Fuzz".  I enjoyed "Shaun Of the Dead" so much.

Back from the 70mm screening of Playtime by Jacques Tati, about which more later.  I've just read the eight pages of posts I hadn't seen and now I am caught up.

Many thanks for the further birthday wishes, Edi, Danise, TCB and Sandra.  The day is over as i am reading these wishes, but I'm celebrating again this weekend, so i'll keep these wishes on reserve.  :)
