I watched a movie on TV last night titled THE LAST DAYS OF DISCO.  There were some very nice performances by young people whose names I have heard but hadn't really connected with faces....

Chloe Sevigney was the best of the lot....Matt Keeslar was also very good.  Kate Beckinsale was good as was MacKenzie Astin.

I then went to Amazon and bought the soundtrack because it has a lot of DISCO DANCE MUSIC!

Isn't Kate Beckinsale SO PRETTY?!

Isn't that a line in The Brain --
Zubrick: "sipid, sipid, sipid!"  ...no wait, that's what Stanley Kubrick said on the set of "Eyes Wide Shut"...

Oh you should see my lines in my brain! ;)

Poor ELmo!  Better Back Vibes!

I don't know why everyone's talking about this Sesame Street character! Have I missed something? 5Apart from my brain!) ;)

Back from over two hours in storage - I went through every single box and did not find what I was looking for, which leads me to believe that I may have brought it home at some point, in which case it's in a box in the garage - or one of the eighty boxes in the garage.  I guess that's tomorrow's job.

No it's Beckham! (Photo Credits: Rego/FilmMagic ). But the columnist did note:

And is it just me or is David Beckham starting to look eerily like Dolph Lundgren?

TOD:

As a youngster I was addicted to Abbot and Costello and then Martin and Lewis.

Other favorites with slap-stick elements:

Carry -On Nurse
The Court Jester
A Princess Bride
Tom Jones
Ghostbusters
Noises Off
Paleface
The Egg and I

THE COURT JESTER  is a great choice!

I'm getting some early copies of DVDs tomorrow - including Becket, the new SEs of True Grit and To Catch A Thief, and a few other nice items.

Back from THE POT-LUCK PLAYS and a post-show snack with Rodzinski and TPunk.  I'll discuss specifics about Rodzinski's play after the run is over because the surprises (gentle yet extremely effective dramatically and emotionally) are important to the impact of the piece, but I will say try to get there this weekend or next and enjoy the spectacular work of HHW's own Tom Nondorf, and the splended and so very real acting of Mr. Steve Maruzzelli and HHW's own Antonia Barba.  (Apparently, tomorrow's perfs are particularly good in terms of assuring the best seating choices.)

Skip was a little tired after a long walk with the dogs this morning, so we almost shifted our tix to the evening performance, but I'm glad we went in the afternoon because that afforded us the opportunity to spend some time with author/director and the female star of that playlet, called "Answering."  It was exciting to talk with them right after having seen the show.

We got a lovely bonus going this afternoon in that the de facto house manager at this performance was one of Skip's former students, who also had a fine fine playlet on the program, the Kleban Award-winning writer Cheryl Davis.   It was lovely getting to see her and chat with her as well.

And for DR dear George .... FELIZ ANOS .... (or whatever the hell would be the correct spanish) ... and HAPPY BIRTHDAY !  On this auspicious chinko the mayo, hold the onion, and on a seed roll!

The correct salutation would be Feliz Cumpelanos, Jorge!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEORGE!!!!!

I am not even sure if it's not "felices compleanos" since "compleanos" is plural and the adjective takes plural as in French!

I rewatched the first part of ARMY OF SHADOWS with the commentary running. It's a French film critic giving a very scholarly critique of the film. Interesting but a bit dry and rehearsed.
