Question for Ask BK Day...

What one - or two - props and/or costumes from any of the Broadway (or off-, or L.A., tour, etc.) shows you've seen would you like to have?  -If you don't have them already.

I'd like to have the real Littlechap outfit from Stop The World.  And anything from the original production of The Most Happy Fella, along with Daisy Mae's outfit from Li'l Abner.

BK,  that looks like a nasty fire in my old neck of the woods.

As always, the media is reporting whatever they feel like, with no real clew as to what they're talking about.  I've heard the fire was started by a homeless person who fell asleep while smoking (as posted here last night), I've heard it was a twenty-year-old idiot who dropped his cigarette - none of it substantiated by anyone.  They may as well add a giraffe from the zoo as long as they're flailing about.

Ask BK:

I was wondering if you auditioned for the Partridge Family spinoff  "Getting Together" The role of Lionel seemed to right up your alley.

And whatever happened to Wes Stern who did the role? He did a couple of Love  American Style and several episodes of Rhoda and then????

No, because apparently the characters appeared on an early episode of the show and they spun them off to no acclaim.  I didn't do the show until season two, I believe.

Wes and I went up for many of the same roles - sometimes he got them, sometimes I got them.  I wrote me towards the end of the Varese years and came and visited.

Oh, and I'm up and my allergies are ridiculous this morning.  I should have taken an Actifed before going to sleep last night.  I'm waiting for the one I just took to kick in.

My meeting is at eleven-fifteen, right when I like to go to the post office.  So, I'll probably go to the PO around ten-forty-five, which means I must jog soon.

The press is doing the best they can in a developing situation - you need to follow the unfolding story in real time. Tid-bits were reported early on and later qualified.

The latest:

LA TIMES

Quote
Meanwhile, police said early today that the 20-year-old man who was questioned Tuesday about the origin of the fire is no longer a suspect. After hours of questioning, police determined that the man, who was reported near the scene when the fire broke out, did not appear to be involved. "He's no longer a person of interest at this time," LAPD Officer Karen Smith said.

The man was listed in stable condition at the Grossman Burn Center at Sherman Oaks Hospital. He was detained and cited on suspicion of smoking in a restricted area, which would be a misdemeanor. Officials said they were investigating other causes for the fire's origin.

That's about as "authentic" and "substantiated" as you're going to get.

The LA Times maintained a running on-line Blog (with credited sources) as the story unfolded. At any given time, this was probably the best data to be had.

It's 20 degrees cooler here today than it was this time yesterday.

The blessed "marine layer" (aka FOG) made a most dramatic and welcome arrival last night, rolling into the Bay on wings of lunar moths.

DR RonP re: idol.   I'm not necessarily surprised that you dislike blake (everyone has their own taste). But i was surprised when you said you thought he was the worst top 4 ever.  I absolutely love him and find him to be the most original contestant ever.

Although that said, i never thought he would win. I always assumed it would be melinda.  And then i sort of thought it would be jordin. Right now i still think it will be jordin.

I personally think melinda is sweet and is the most professional, and has the best voice.  But while she was exciting in the beginning, i just find almost every performance similar. She is always good. But i never go "oh wow" at her interpretations.  I really think that is why she is no longer the person to beat.

Oh and one more thing re: idol.

I actually feel differently about my favorite leaving the competition. I would rather blake stay as long as possible, even if he doesn't win.

I thought we already established that the new, reformulated Actifed is not the one for you.

You want something with pseudoephedrine in it.

Ask the pharmacy clerk for one of the "behind-the-counter-products" that still have it, like:

Claritin-D® (loratadine/pseudoephedrine)
Clarinex-D® (desloratadine/pseudoephedrine)
Sinutab® (guaifenesin/pseudoephedrine)
Benylin® (pseudoephedrine)
Zyrtec-D® (certirizine/pseudoephedrine)
Allegra-D® (fexofenadine/pseudoephedrine)
Drixoral® (dexbrompheniramine/pseudoephedrine)
Mucinex-D® (guaifenesin/pseudoephedrine)

Note: Clariitin-D - NOT plain Claritin!

That will be 5¢, please!

To my errant and truant mother --

Seems like all of your errancy and truancy has paid its toll, as Bruce is utterly ignoring your question posed late last night.

However, I'll resurrect the question as my "Ask BK" one:

Okay, bk, you tease, spill the beans -- what interesting email did you get about The Brain?

Good morning dear Esteemed, rested, svelte, and sinewy BK --

I second the motion, as far as the suggestion of "Claritin-D" to help with your allergy problem.  I'm usually not bothered too much, but this has been a heavy pollen season here in Phoenix, and I've had to take a few Claritin myself.

And now, I have to go run to my friendly chiropractor, to have him deal with my upper neck.

He's a very warm, effusive, affectionate Italian, and also a devoted bodybuilder who could crack a pecan between his pecs, and he always gives me a big hug........ and unfortunately he also has a wife and 2 very sweet little boys, about  5 and 7 ....... Oh well, he's still a good hugger, and he has a great sense of humor.

He must have.... he's put up with me teasing him for 10 years!

What was that weird thing all about?  Someone obviously pressed a wrong button.  And there was no button for me to delete, so I clicked on the only clickable thing and thank goodness that took it away, but didn't remove the whole thread.

Back from a jog - you can really smell the smoke and ashes today.  Claritin hasn't been working for me at all - if there were a twelve-hour version, I'd do that before bed, but the twenty-four hour version precludes me from taking Actifed.

How are things in Berlin, DR CASON?

DR ELMORE - the HAL 6000 Dream-O-Matic says that your dream has more to do with your feeling of the important of the music over the book in the scripts or projects that you work on - and that book work to you is a step backwards in progress.

How are things in Berlin, DR CASON?

Life is beautiful.

Things are going well - between those rehearsals, auditions, work, and the LACCTAA board, I am keeping myself quite busy.  Or trying to.  :)

That's understandable....but Melinda is the ONLY reason I watch.  Without her, it's just tedious for me.  I like Lakisha, too, but not enough to torture myself for an hour without Melinda.

As for my contention that Blake is the worst singer in final four history....I can understand your not understanding, but I also think he was ALWAYS the weakest vocalist of the men.

This Yahoo Report Card article sums up everything nicely.
