Isn't "Oniomania" a song from THE WILL ROGERS FOLLIES?

bk, have you tried PUFFS PLUS [with lotion] brand tissues?  It doesn't alleviate the symptoms, but after you use them, regular tissues feel like sandpaper!  Really makes a difference.

Just don't use them to clean your eyeglasses...     :)

Hey, Jack, here is my post from yesterday about the cancellation of my presentation.

Well, gang, for once the vibes didn't work. My presentation is cancelled today. We had an electrical fire in one of the HVAC rooms on the second floor (that's where my presentation was happening). The fire alarm blew just as we were supposed to begin. The acrid smell of electrical wires burning (and that piercing fire alarm and strobe light) sent everyone out of the room. The presentation has been postponed until the week of May 21 (since I'm on vacation all next week).

Perhaps the vibes did work in a funny way because yesterday was the less than professional presentation and some people asked me guarded questions about my dog and pony show in a way that made me think they didn't want to sit through another one of these things. In two weeks Mr. Charm will be a memory (in presentation terms at least) and I will start with a clean slate!

True.  But, I think that SHE thought she was about to audition for a stage version of The First Nudie Musical, right after her shopping binge.  She was just saving time.

Good morning, all!  Why the hell was I dreaming about Nehemiah Persoff last night I will never know!  I was a guest artist at some university and Mr Persoff was the star of the production.  An actor dropped out in the juvenile role and suddenly I was forced into doing it.  And there was something about me trying to locate my missing script, but it's all too vague now.

Need I add that I slept quite badly last night?  I didn't fall asleep until after 1:30 AM, although I turned off the lights around 11:30.

Today, a trek to Toyland, then lunch with the drummer who played THE TRAGIC LIFE OF THE SINGING NUN last year and who's just returned from China.  I then meet up with our DR Jose, and later I have dinner with three friends to discuss the Library of Congress LIFE BEGINS AT 8:40 project.

TOD:  I have bad experiences in physicians' waiting rooms, never in restaurants.  Unless you count the morons behind the counters and the long lines occasionally at MacDonalds.

It's at The Drama Book Shop.

TOD:

One of my worst dining experiences was a few years ago at a well-know restaurant in Ocean City, NJ.  Though we had a reservation, we still had to wait a half hour to be seated.  It took forever to even meet our waitress for the first time just to hand over menus and take drink orders.  And then we waited close to forty-five minutes to get our food.  We waited again for the watress to bring our bill, at which point my niece's oaf of a boyfriend decided he wanted to order dessert, which meant tacked on another half hour to the meal.  I could have killed him...

In the news:  FRACAS IN BOSTON

BOSTON, Massachusetts (AP) -- Concert-goers, and even Boston Pops conductor Keith Lockhart, were caught off-guard when a fight broke out on opening night at usually sedate Symphony Hall.

Television video of the fight Wednesday night showed two men struggling in the balcony -- one with his shirt pulled off -- as several people stood around them.

Lockhart briefly halted the performance, which featured singer-songwriter Ben Folds, while the men were escorted out.

Witnesses said they heard a scream from the balcony, and the sound of chairs falling, then a second scream as the fight escalated.

"The first time there was a scream, Keith looked up that way but he kept going," audience member June MacIndoe told Boston's WHDH-TV. "Then about a minute and a half later...there was a big scream and you could hear chairs falling over and you could see them up there, fists going."

At that point, Lockhart stopped the performance for a couple of minues, she said. "He just stood there, you know, quiet."

Boston police spokesman David Estrada said police officers on security detail at the hall escorted the men off the property, and no charges were filed. No injuries were reported, he said.

A Boston Symphony spokeswoman did not immediately return a call for comment.

Looks quite lovely, DR Ben, and I know you'll have a grand time.  DO visit the CyberCenter, if you have a moment, and check in with HHW!  Just to let us all know what a fabulous time you are indeed having.   :)
