Yesterday evening, I left work and went to my sister's house for some veggie lasagna...with veggies...and mushrooms...and cottage cheese.  It was well made, but it had veggies...and mushrooms...and cottage cheese. :P

Your sister should be told that low-fat ricotta is available.

Still  :P, but more authentic.

She knows...she just likes cottage cheese.

DR GEORGE thanks for the Amazon link - maybe I will watch that and see if it sells.  I would not know how to begin to sell anything with that value, but time will tell.

Have you sold anything on eBay?  You could list it, but with a very high reserve, just to see what happens.  That might give you more of a clue...or not. ::)

DR SWW - I sure wish we librarians could use the same logic in refusing admittance to some of our bottom-feeders.  They're scaring off the tax-payers we'd like to keep on our side.

As I understand it, AI has a list of songs for which they have pre-paid the royalties.  This includes subsequent broadcasts of the songs performed, including in other media, thus giving AI the anciliary income from CDs and DVDs.

The lack of clearance is what has caused some shows (including dramas and comedies using source music) to have thier soundtracks altered or cut when released in other media, or blocked the release in the other media entirely.  I believe this is why WKRP in Cincinatti is having trouble being released on DVD - the original shows used a lot of source music, as was befitting the radio station locale of the series.

And The Muppet Show!

A woman that I work with told me that there was a TV show (I forget which) with an episode that heavily featured a song by Sting (not just the music playing in the background, but I think it was specifically referenced in the script), but the show couldn't get the rights for the song for the DVD release.  So instead of trying to totally butcher the episode, they just released the season DVDs without that episode. :-\

My friend had taped it when it was originally on TV and just made a DVR copy from her VHS tape.  She said that it was good enough for her...she now has the truly complete season...of whatever show it was.

Personally, I believe restaurant owners do have the right to refuse service.  If a known criminal element were to come into a restaurant I owned, I would not want them there - they would scare off the customers I do want as customers.

In the case of OJ, the very next customer to come in and be seated at the very same table was none other than Michael Jackson.  So much for OJ's lawyer claiming racism in this case.

I'd evict the pedophile, too!  Neither one of them's an asset to any race, and the poor Queen of Pop wants to be a white lady, to boot.

You'll enjoy last night's LOST, DR George. Last night's MEDIUM will be my first stop this afternoon though I understand from reading TV GUIDE that the story with Neve Campbell still doesn't reach a conclusion this week and continues on to next week.

It looks like the nature of the whole show could change a LOT because of what's happening in this story-line. :o I don't know if this is what happened to the real Allison Dubois, but it's definitely getting interesting!

There is no way he'd buckle under to a letter writing campaign on behalf of Paris.

However, an arguement could be made that anyone having to share a cell with the self-absorbed Hilton would undergo a form of inhumane punishment.  Forty-five days in solitary is the only way I can think of to avoid this.

Preferably in a soundproofed, padded cell.

And no chihuahua to dangle as an accessory, neither before or after the fact.

I hope they let her keep her nail file for sexual gratification.

The University of Toronto's gift to the  theatre strikes again on the chat line, I see.  A person inquired about a place for scripts, and the ass curtly answered, "A bookshop."

Finding his claims to be a "teacher"  dubious, I'm once again amazed by his rudeness and arrogance.  When another person accused him of being rude, he snidely referred to the original poster's "whining" and ingenuously said that a bookstore was the source for books.  I wonder if the ass is that curt and rude to his unfortunate students.  Why he couldn't have simply and politely referred a novice looking for help to a theatre bookstore in Toronto or Manhattan eludes me.

Had an incredibly busy and a nice day yesterday. I had a meeting early in the morning that lasted a lot longer than scheduled and after the meeting I met up with a freind and DBF Jon for some Iced tea and we had lunch at Juanos (Best burritos and Fajitas in Fargo) and sat outside on their patio for a couple of hours chatting and stuff before I had to go to work at 330. The nice warm sun felt great and it was the most relaxed I had felt in a long time.

Work was annoying, short staffed and trying to get things ready for summer reserves because summer classes start on Monday. I had to spend nearly two hours searching for a book that was not correctly catalogued. It was a book called Subduing Satan by Ted Ownby, a reknown scholar on Reconstruction and segregationism in the Deep South. I finally found it....

They had it catalogued as a fiction book in the general reading area. They classified it as a Science fiction book.

I was searching our High Demand list and one TV series DVD was listed as being shelved in the Adult Non-fiction BOOK section!  Fortunately, it was only in the computer as a ANF Book, but still you'd think that someone would've caught this sooner.  It'd been out for a couple of years!

The couple of times I watched THE SIMPLE LIFE - Paris Hilton seemed to have some humanity about her and certainly interacted with the people she was with to a greater degree than her colleague.

She was pretty much without a "real world" mentality, which isn't surprising considering her upbringing.

But her sense of entitlement is outrageous - another non-surprise considering her upbringing and the "celebrity" world she exists in.  Sad....and as her mother said:  "After all the money we spent!"

And thanks to MR BK for sending Ms Petula Clark to me.

No, DR JRand. You're thinking of last season's OUT OF PRACTICE which I also loved (and I don't think CBS ever telecast all of the episodes it had.)

IT'S ALL RELATIVE was the ABC comedy from two or three years ago with Christopher Sieber and John Benjamin Hickey as the gay couple whose daughter was marrying a bar owner's son. Harriet Sansom Harris played the mother of the son.

And the woman who played the daughter on "It's All Relative" is now on the show, "Psych."  I really like that show, too. :)

I have nothing to add to the conversation about bad meals in restaurants.  Except to say that Burger King has been consistently disappointing in terms of the meal being served cold.  And as we've been through, a burger is not a dish best served cold.

Have you ever had a McDonald's Filet-O-Fish that was still partially frozen??  That was the worst for me.  I got it from the drive-thru one night and driven a couple of blocks before I realized what had happened.  I turned around and drove all the way back and went inside to get a new one.  The replacement wasn't frozen, but it still wasn't very warm, either. :P

One of the things I brought home from storage was an old big fake book of songs, mostly theater and film.  This is the only book that I know of that has the Livingston/Evans inspired by song from Vertigo, a real hoot and the nadir of inspired by songs.  While perusing, I came upon a song from Golden Boy that I'd never heard of called What Became Of Me?  It was obviously cut from the show.  So, loving that score as I do, I began playing the song - as soon as I finished the first line I realized that Mr. Strouse, knowing a good tune when he wrote one, recycled the melody for the title song from Dance A Little Closer, by simply adding another syllable onto the end of the first line (clo-ser, instead of "me").   Fun, huh?  Had I known that, I would have included it on one of the Lost In Bostons.

Cool!  Maybe you can keep it in mind for a future "Lost In Boston" on Kritzerland??
