As for the new show with Debra Messing.....DRMBARNUM called it correctly for me.

Hee, hee...of course that wasn't really very nice of me, especially since I actually do like Debra Messing....although she has an uncanny appearance to Veronica Hart.

At this moment I am listening to a Bollywood soundtrack for the movie KASAM PAIDA KARNEWALE KI (197?)...it is so totally disco...in Hindi...and it is both fun and bizarre at the same time...I image the picturizations of each song in the movie itself are equally so.

I've decided not to announce Oz on the film music sites for another week - until I get them all out of their blisterpax - that way I can ship when they're sold.  So, it's an exclusive here at haineshisway.com until that time.

Following the lead of DR Cillaliz, DH Richard and I are considering making our Broadway debut by purchasing on-stage seats for Inherit the Wind.  Anyone here have any insights into that experience?

Wouldn't that be more like "hindsight"?

If you don't know it, David Shire's Return To Oz score is one of the great scores of all time.  The recording is amazing, it's the London Symphony Orchestra, and it was the first Bay Cities soundtrack CD.

Is it a actual soundtrack or is it the London Symphony Orchestra studio sessions?

I still remember the apprehension the first time we tried the chute in the Parlor/Barber Shop unit at the Kennedy Center for the Sondheim Celebration Sweeney Todd.  When the national tour was there back in the 80s, Angelina Reaux who was playing the Beggar Woman had a horrible accident.  And since Walter Charles who was playing Judge Turpin was in the national tour cast, he was able to share the details.  -Which I will spare here.  :-\

You can't not mention it now.

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE COMMENTS (tonight's show):

Watching SO YOU THINK CAN DANCE

I still like this show.  Really smart judges...and they show the GOOD people more than the freaks!

I love this show. But i think i liked last night more. Even though they show a lot of good dancers. They (the judges) sort of bugged me tonight. They applauded for a bunch of dancers and then did not let them do the choreography.

To me if you are that thrilled by them then at least them have the chance to try the choreography. You never know what they might do (example the football ballerina guy whe they were gonna cut).

I cannot wait till next week. I hope they show a lot of them learning choreography. Although my guess is they will probably only do it for the 2 shows next week.

Ginny,
I found this on Playbill.com
Sixty-three onstage seats are available to theatregoers for each performance. The onstage seats represent spectators at the trial; all seats face the orchestra section of the theatre (the defense and prosecution tables, however, are angled in such a way that the onstage audience doesn't just get back-views of the stars).

If you don't mind sometimes seeing backs, I think it would be fabulous to see this onstage.

It's the soundtrack recording, which was conducted by Mr. Shire with the LSO.
