I have tried giving myself dream-inducing instructions, stating what it was I wanted to dream about and what I wanted the dream to resolve for me.  To date, though, none of those "dream-it-and-solve-it" demands have been fruitful.

I have done this sort of thing using meditation. I was quite adept at it at one point. A friend also tried it in anticipation of a confrontation she was dreading, and the outcome not only proved to be positive, but VERY close to how she visualized it.

Edi, Glen Hansard does indeed look like the "Early Tymes" Nilsson. Though on a couple tunes he sounds like Cat Stevens.

Ditto on the look-alike.

I detested and loathed and abominated the Broadway production, which had none of the stylishness or chic of the overlong film, although I did like Gavin, Marc, Harriet Harris and the office manager. I didn't like Sutton Foster, who's quite lovely, until DROWSY CHAPERONE.

I have a lovely recording from the West Coast which features Erin Dilly, Pat Carroll and Jim Stanek; I like it much more than the OBC.

My DH interprets this as my desire to live in a bigger house! (Mine is tiny!) He can also do lucid dreaming.

At first I read that as "lurid dreaming."

It's great news about Wait Until Dark - but as Lukas Kendall states, the tapes were never lost - some doofus gave him bad info.  The world of soundtracks is rife with bad info.

And a lot of that bad information is doled out by JoeCaps/   :o

TOD

When I was a kid I would have a recurring dream once a year. It would be the same except I would have a "special guest star" Like Roger Moore as The Saint, Patrick McGoohan as The Prisoner, Sean Connery as James Bond, Robert Vaughn as The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and a couple of others.

LOL.

I'm off to work.

This will make two nights in a row that I'll be returning home late.  The real trick is getting der Brucer up early enough so that he can get to the Eastern Shore in time to take care of the grandlads.  It makes for a hellish schedule.

I do have a recurring dream, sorta.
It's always about working in a restaurant high on a hill; the lay-out of the place is huge, the building is surrounded by bare trees (actually it looks a lot like Barnaby's hideaway in Disney's BABES IN TOYLAND) and there is a waterfall outdoors.  Sometimes I am working the place all alone, with many, many tables of unruly customers, other times, its a few of my choicest friends and I celebrating the end of a busy day there at the bar.  Food, friends, income, water, trees . . . what to make of the dream?

And, apparently, Ms. Streisand was not happy with one of her quartet of Broadway Men that are touring with her.  The other night, one of them stepped on one of her lines, and, was rumored to have been asked to leave the tour that night.  -I'm still waiting on confirmation on this, but I'm sure DR singdaw, elmore, td, or Dan (the Man) will undoubtedly have reports courtesy of All That Chat.  ;)

She's such a bitch I'm sure by the end of the tour there will be four different Broadway Boys taking her crap.

It's a GREAT cover.  That really jumps out at ya!

Any coinkydinkies regarding the first name of the heroine and someone's "assistant"?

DR ELmo ~ Well, that just chaps my hide -- or to quote DR Laura -- those chincy bassas (spell check please!).

Hope you guys find a new home SOON! How frustrating -- and not fair ... most unprofessional, ratty ... weaselly ...  ________ (insert appropriate word) on the part of those CBs!

Most of Mancini's scores are superb with the films.  The soundtrack recordings, though, tended to be lighter, sometimes jazzier re-recordings.

I'd love a "real" OST to "Breakfast At Tiffany's", "Hatari", "Charade" and "Two for the Road".

I agree. I love the albums of his film scores, but I'll never forget my slight disappointment when I bought the LP of BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S only to find that Audrey's vocal for "Moon River" wasn't on there.

Dear DR Matt: you may get a request from Der Brucer soon, requesting suggestions about upgrading our equipment.

I'll be more than happy to provide any information I know.
