Ah... And then there's "drinking game", where you try to keep drinking for as long as Babs hold out that long note after the intro.  Crazy theatre people.  ;)

I have to admit...I've always been envious of Barbra's ability to hold notes the way she does used to. I mean...that's impressive!

Jason - Not to be contrary (what am i talking about, I love being contrary :) ), the critics sitting in seventh row center would know.

In that barn of a theatre, no one would know. I hate to be tacky, so I'll just quote Oprah... "Black don't crack."

Or in the words of Miss Melba Moore herself after she did Purlie in concert at the Kennedy Center a couple of years ago...  A young woman commented on her wonderful skin, to which Miss Moore replied, "I have been truly blessed."

Now, whether that "blessing" came from something/someone Divine or from a doctor's office, well... ;D

Too bad Ms. Moore can't say the same about her recent hairdos. Has anyone else seen the Seth's Chatterbox that she did? It's on DVD, available for a donation to BC/EFA. She looked like Macy Gray on a really bad hair day...

Jose - I meant they'd know that Donna Summer was too old to play Lutiebelle in PURLIE and should be palying Lena in RAISIN.

And as for playing Brain auditions... Have any actual dates been set yet?  Once I get dates, I can provide a definite answer based on my availability.

Sounds frightening DR JFL. I still would find that less frightening than seeing and hearing this particular Rose. (no way can I escape those memories of her Mrs Lovett with the New York Philharmonic. It rates right up there with Bernadette's "Song & Dance" recording. (Not a Song of Bernadette reference)
