It's not a cedilla, it's an acute (é), not be confused with a grave (è).

Well, "technically" speaking, it's an accent aigu not an acute one.  ;)

Case says the sublet is really nice as well as the owner -- she had even put the air-conditioner on in the bedroom so it was cool when he got there.

(Whew! I had visions of the taxi dropping him off at some vacant lot with a cardboard box sitting there with a sign reading "Sucker! -- ala some movie I saw where the vacationers had that happen with their hotel/motel ... I know, I'm a worry wart, but it was a bit nerve wracking and time-consuming looking for a sublet, especially long distance -- trust me, I talked with a few brokers who made me very uneasy ... and MAD... ).

I think you're quite right to be skeptical and cautious, MISS KAREN. One doesn't need to have many awful experiences of this sort to learn to be suspicious. Yes, sigh, I've become cynical myself.

Mr Race Gentry and Mr Mark Damon once went on a Beach double date with Allison Hayes and Beverly Tyler.

Thank goodness a photographer just happened to be along that day to capture all of the fun.

As for the Topic of the Day...

There really isn't such a thing a "bad" mac'n'cheese, well, I guess there is, but those are few and far between.

I will say that I'm not partial to the "layered" type where the macaroni, shredded cheese, butter and cream are just combined in a baking dish before being baked.  I want my cream sauce, my bechamel sauce.

The stuff at SuperMac is very good, as is the stuff at S'Mac.  Both Angus McIndoe and Joe Allen have good mac'n'cheese.  French Roast does too.  I like the stuff from Good Enough To Eat, but sometimes it's been more like pasta in cheese sauce rather than mac'n'cheese.  There is a difference.  ;)

As for the best I've ever had, well... My own, of course.  :)  It's been a few years since I've made it, but I came across a recipe that used both mild and extra sharp cheddar cheeses, plus a bit of swiss/gruyere to smooth it all out.  Quite good.  And, of course, I like it topped with bread crumbs, and then run under the broiler for a few seconds for a good crust on top.

G'morning all!

Just a beautiful day here in the city...still getting used to the time change, but I feel like I'm gonna do alright.

We have our tech for Bukowsical today (they don't waste any time, huh?) down at the Bleecker St. Theatre, so I suppose I should start getting ready.

Today is the day when we should learn exactly how much "catching up" DR François does!

And I'm certain he will weigh in on the acute/aigu "whose is bigger?" issue.

Ah, France.  The French.  French Fries.  French Fried Onion Rings.

Hey Boo ~ Tell those Bukowsical folks they need to decide which days you'll be the lawyer -- tell 'em you've got friends here at HHW who want to see YOU on stage and they're waiting to get tickets when it's a guarantee you'll be the laywer.
