And remember, DR elmore - The storms they're predicting for this afternoon seem to be a sure thing, so just remember that as you're planning your public transportation itinerary for today.

Good morning!

The hellish heat of August has return with a vengeance. It was 99 yesterday and is supposed to get to 101 today. No rain in sight, and the cool temps they were forecasting for Saturday and Sunday have now been upped a few degrees making them not so cool.

I hate summer.

Good wishes to DR Elmore concerning the potentially damaged communication. I think many of us have been in similar situations before, so I can certainly empathize with you.

I got no mail at all yesterday, so I'm certain the Blu-rays will come today so I can begin watching them.

In the meantime, I do have MURDER SHE SAID that I started last night to finish. In the original book, Miss Marple hires a family friend to become the maid and do the snooping. I much prefer Miss Marple being there snooping around. Gives it much more immediacy. And Rutherford's gave and take with James Robertson Justice is priceless.

DR Elmore: did you ever get last week's BURN NOTICE recorded and watched?

Quote
The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic will perform next month in Second Life, the Internet-based virtual environment, in an effort to broaden its audiences.

Begun in 2003 by Linden Research, Inc. of San Francisco, Second Life is now inhabited by nearly nine million people who, through their online entities called avatars, engage in activities such as commerce, house building, sex and decorating. 100 audience members, chosen by lottery, will experience the performance in a simulated version of Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.

During the concert, virtual refreshments and restrooms will be available to Second Life listeners, who may socialize via instant messaging without disturbing the concert.

"People will be experiencing the watching of a performance within a group...and there will be an opportunity to discuss it: it's about creating a community," said Millicent Jones, the orchestra's executive director of marketing and communications, to The Guardian of London.

OK. I'll erase it from my DVR. I kept it this last week thinking if you didn't get around to recording it, I could burn you a DVD, but no need for that now.

So what did it cost ya -- the $3 or the $5 (or did you find a cheaper one in the Bronx)?

They were indeed, but don't tell DR FJL I said that cause I'm not letting him off that easy -- an ode or two in place of the flowers and chocolates he promised to fill my sublet room with?  I don't think so... you know what I think?  I bet those flowers are sitting in a lovely vase on his desk next to an open box of chocolates, now empty...That's what I think happened .....so he jots down a quick ode thinking that will appease me.... Har-rump!!

That was kind of you to do that! Thank you.  Free up the DVR; there  may be something else down the pike I'd love to have on DVD.

Thank you all again for the vibes! I just received a lovely email from the person I thought I'd upset yesterday and I believe things are okay.[move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]

So your umbrella is sitting next to your tap shoes in LA, hmm?  ;D

Good morning, all!  I slept poorly and now I'm behind schedule for today, so I may make a few adjustments in my plans, which include another NYPL trek. I'm hoping the person I may have offended yesterday is a forgiving sort and calls me back today, but it may be an irreparable situation.  I hope not.  Any vibes would be appreciated.

I forgive you, Larry.

Nothing is ever what it seems. My guess is that it was Mock Turtle.

I once wore mock turtleneck sweaters, but I've lately switched to cadogans.

DR ELmo ~ How could anyone stay upset at that darling mug of yours?

I'm serious, you need to write reviews for a living -- or those gossip columns -- once again, your review of another Fringe show cracked me up (the line about f**king the audience -- LOL)....

Good morning!

I hate summer.

Without the summer, how ever would you be able to appreciate fall?

Trust me, you'd miss the seasons if you didn't have them!
