You must first do "Oprah".

How do you mean that?! ;)

BK, perhaps Scott Bakula or John Schneider would make good Fred choices....they were certainly good in that video that Francois posted yesterday! (I had no idea that Bakula could sing!)

They both have been in musical shows, but I did not know how good a voice Mr Schneider still had, in spite of a country LP of his I got back in the... seventies!

RE: high school musical 2 that is premiering tonight.

I have my sister taping this for me (since i don't get the Family channel that it is on here).

I'm not sure if this is the case in the US, but here they are showing an hour special of the musical tour before the movie.  So i believe the movie is from 8-9:30pm, but at 7pm there is an added hour.

If anyone wants to revive Arthur Kopit's one act "The Day The Whores Came Out To Play Tennis," I'm ready to cast!  I just denied two more lovelies who don't look at all Asian, but their page tells me they live in China!

Don't be so hasty - they can probably get you some good deals on toothpaste, pet food, and children's toys.

Jennifer, I also have a lot of foreign currency from countries that have switched to the Euro. I kept it because I planned to spend it when I went back to those places, but then I never remembered it and now it's only Euros. So i would like to be able to cash mine in, too.

François? Any insight into this?

All French coins and bills should be considered as "keepsakes" now since the Banque de France won't take them back anymore! They are obsolete as I am almost obsolete too! But one should see both sides of my "coin" whatever that means!! LOL!

Wanted to thank S. Woody for the wheat thins.  May your birthday include tastier baked goods.

Since BK can't see all the New Yorkers he deals with, I'm here to report that casting director with the helpful suggestions in one hot babe

DR FJL and Miss K, you have kept me in stitches the entire day as I catch up on posts. The song lyrics are hilarious! Maybe you should take this show on the road!  (Uh oh...but we know what happens on "the road"!)

Two For The Road, the musical.

I have now read every word posted that I missed while I was away.  Too much to post on directly, but a few highlights:

I apologize to the following DRs for missing their birthdays: td, der Brucer, and the DF of Tomovoz.  Congratulations on milestones of DRs SWW, TCB, Julie, and bk.  Belated audition vibes to Ant, Jason, and TPunk.  Belated MCAT vibes to Bryan.  Best wishes and vibes to DR DakotaCelt for her father, and congrats to her DBF on his attaining a Doctorate.  Happy anniversary to Ben & Ant.  Congratulations to Michael S. on his weight loss.  Glad that DD Bosco is OK.  And belated opening night vibes to DRs Cason and JRand56 - and congratulations also to Jack on his new role.  And thanks to all for their travel vibes last week!  :)

Oh, and does anyone have a good mac n' cheese recipe?   ;)

GEORGE,
It sounds like you and DF Margo have a very nice friendship.

Yup.  We've been great friends ever since she started working here.  Of course, we're not friends in "that" way...we're both gay. :)

I wish that John Schneider would do an album of standards....he has the voice for it.

If Mr. Bakula were to do an album, I would also buy it.

For this evening birthday meal, here's the starters:

Woody will probably go for the Coconut Shrimp - me, the Baked Oysters, for sure!

This evening entree choce is a bit problematic:

Woody hates won't touch asparagus or parsnips and the fish and chicken he can do at home!

Me - I might do the pork shank.

Of course, there is the pasta menu:

He could do the Penne, me the Linguine

I'd thought of John Schneider, but to approach someone like him with rehearsals only a week away, would, I think, be folly and impossible.  Same with Bakula.  Had we gone that route three weeks ago as we did with Donny Osmond, there might have at least been interest.

I have to say that I haven't seen him in awhile, but when I worked with him years ago he was a very nice, kind guy.

Well, BK has his casting problems and I have MD problems: I'm stuck dealing with band problems because our MD is in Scotland and can't tell the designer how he'd like the band space laid out, so I have to do it.  Since I neither have to play in the band nor keep the ensemble together, I hate having a responsibility that may not make the MD, designer or director happy in the long run.

There used to be this great photo of Scott Bakula back in his modeling days.  He is wearing nothing but a pair of briefs.  I'll bet M Barnum has that photo.
