Life should not be measured by the number of breaths we take.  It should be measured by the number of moments that take our BRIEFS away.

Friday media report (amended)

VCR - The Guardsman, starring Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne.  I learned at Ten Chimneys that they used the money they made on this film to build the swimming pool on the estate.  It was one of the first private pools in the state of Wisconsin.

There used to be this great photo of Scott Bakula back in his modeling days.  He is wearing nothing but a pair of briefs.  I'll bet M Barnum has that photo.

Will this do?

He's a wonderful singer!  He was in the musical Romance/Romance on Broadway and was nominated for a Tony Award®!  And he got to sing on an episode of "Quantum Leap" with guest star Michele Pawk!

He also sang the male lead on the ANYONE CAN WHISTLE concert recording.

I guess I should pick-up the Birthday Boy - it's been 8 hours on his feet and it's a hot walk home.

So, it did sprinkle rain for just a bit this afternoon. Didn't do a thing but make the outside a sauna for a few minutes, and it's now back to being hotter than ever.

I began my afternoon watching CHARLIE CHAN'S SECRET. I had never seen it before and really enjoyed it, but I was very angry with myself for not guessing the identity of the murderer. I was SO sure I had the right culprit (felt it was so obvious), and I was wrong, wrong, wrong.

Next, I put in ANDRE'S MOTHER, the 45 minute AMERICAN PLAYHOUSE production which won Terrance McNally a Writing Emmy. Starred Sada Thompson, Richard Thomas, and Sylvia Sidney: I just wept my way through the last half of the short film. Lovely program.

Next up, I watched today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Oh, brother, colonel father wants his son to enter the military because he suspects he's gay. Once he parades his girl friend for inspection, talk of enlisting is forgotten. Meanwhile, suspected gay son (who's in denial) has his necktie tied by out gay friend and fireworks ensue.

Well worth watching. I think this is the first time I actually seen two guys kiss on a soap. Yes, I've followed gay storylines on ALL MY CHILDREN and ONE LIFE TO LIVE several times over the years but this was a first for me.

Next, I watched the last 30 minutes of SAVING GRACE that I slept through the other night. OK drama, a little wacko, but OK.

I forgot about that.  And I first heard of him from the recording of 3 Guys Naked from the Waist Down (sadly, no one is actually naked in the show ::)).  I still have the vinyl album.

Tonight I will be watching an hour of something on DVD (MEDIUM, CLOSER, BONES: I haven't decided yet), and then watching the DVR recording of BURN NOTICE from last night. This should take me into MONK and PSYCH.

Is this the one?

That sound you just heard was Barnum's jaw hitting the floor.

I just spoke to the designer.  I think the band setup will be easily resolved and I feel much better.

I met Scott in the early 1980s, right after he played the chauffeur ("Proud Lady") in THE BAKER'S WIFE for Cincinnati's Playhouse in the Park.

Jennifer I always enjoy the stories about your niece. :)

Ginny if I had been at your book group you wouldn’t have had those flavors leftover.

Adriana thank you for the photo of Merv’s star.

Jason I’m sorry you won’t be going on the road & about the mold.  Be careful, mold can cause depression.

NYC Ticket Alert!

I have an extra ticket for tomorrow at 2:00 pm for the one-act series featuring Skip Kennon's one-act musical.  Would any New York Hainsie/Kimlet like to have it?  PM me, please.

Hi, just a quick hello on Sam's computer.  I need a new power adapter for my laptop and no one has a universal adapter that is compatible with my Dell. I ordered one, but that won't help this weekend.  :(

elmore - I should think that the drums and bass would go stage right of center, and the two keyboards and the reed should be stage left of center.  The keyboards definitely have to be on the left because that's the only place where there'll be power.  That was basically the layout in LA>
