Things were a little slow on the Avenue tonight, unfortunately. And, after all that mocking Jose for being so tuckered out...I have to admit that I may have napped a bit during the first act. Shhh!!

I'm very happy that you accepted my MySpace invitation. We're officially friends now, whereas we were just casual acquaintances before.  ;)

Glad you enjoyed A Chorus Line!

I won't tell the Schuberts if you get me an "Internet is for Porn" onesie...

How could I NOT accept your Myspace - you made it into my Top Friends even!  I mean, after all of the NY bonding moments we've had, I'd be severely remiss.

Ahhh, ACL -- I had only seen it once before (and I must've been no more than 11 or so at that time), so it was amazing to see it on stage - and on Broadway no less.  I don't have much to compare it to - but the new Paul is pretty friggin' fantastic.

Bad news today on the lightening damage report: $1200 in repairs needed.

At your house?

DTG(Dear Tour Guide) Jose can show you a lot of NYC sights in just those few days! Take him up on it if he offers Cason!

I have not had him as a tourguide but from the exploits of other HHWers I would recommend him.

I'm finished watching motion pictures for this evening.  I've been in a very good mood all day, even though nothing has been resolved actor-wise or costume-wise.  I suspect come Monday we'll know the lay of the land and I'm hoping the lay is excellent.

Where's there a diner across from Macy's?

Vixmom, they still have the wooden escalator, but now it takes you to several different eatery establishments, among them the one downstairs.  They also have a whole food court in the Junior department, including a Ben & Jerry's.  And there's a Starbucks, too... comes in handy after several hours of hardcore shopping.

OMG, we're totes BFF! :)

I haven't seen the new Paul. I'm sure I'll hear all about him from the merch staff at the show. My first time seeing it was when this production was in previews, and I thought most of it worked really well. I think the show itself is quite moving, but I wasn't overly impressed with some of the casting choices. I've not seen the cast that's on now, so hopefully things are looking up over there at the Schoenfeld (it'll always be the Plymouth to me).

When my inlaws came over from England the Christmas after we married, we took them for a tour of New York at Christmas time including a trip to Macy's.

We lunched at the basement eatery where my FIL ordered fish and chips , after it arrived he realized in horror that he might have to make do with  tomato catsuo.... I called over the waitress and in seconds a bottle of his favorite malt vinegar appeared with which he could liberally slather his  "chips"

I think that was the best part of the whole trip for him!! :D

and "The Mousetrap" is (IMHO) not particularly good either!

I figured it probably wasn't, since they had to hammer home how many years it's been running. That seemed to be their only selling point!

The breakdown?  Yes, I did.  Thank you.  Keep me posted... I'm sure it will all come together on Monday!

I was actually wondering about what you mentioned in a previous email, about whether your rep was being used to encourage the agents... Certainly a good question and I'm curious.

What can I say?  Today provided us with plenty o' material.

Also, I think I heard a big cacophony on the 2nd keyboard during "What I Did For Love" when Jose finally got his nap in...
(In all seriousness, Jose - and the rest of the orchestra - were pretty phenomenal this evening...God, what I'd give to have them playing for me...)

you put in on your chips (which are more like steak frieds than french fries) and spinkle liberally with salt....

also sprinkle on your fish... salt not needed there!

Larry and singdaw - I'm hoping to be at Skip's show tomorrow as well.  Since Skip is actually performing in the show, and I know how strong opinions on here can get (see Bukowsical and PB&J), could I respectfully beg that any negative comments be held until after the show closes on August 28?

Frankly, the reviews of the one-act evening have been quite varied.  Almost every review picked out a favorite among the evening's variety of one-acts (the musical by Eduardo Machado and Skip is the second piece in the second act, and is the last piece of the performance).  And for the most part, when a critic liked one of the pieces above the others, that citic would go on about the piece he or she liked and then just run through the others.   The theaterscene.net critic liked Skip's piece AFTERNOON TEA the most of the four; the Times really liked Leslie Lyle's RAIN, HEAVY AT TIMES the most, as did backstage; nytheatre.com liked Warren Leight's AMICI, ASCOLTAT (sp?) the best.  And so it went.

I always wondered something about the ACL orchestrations... in "Music and the Mirror", during the (second?) dance break, what instrument makes the waka-waka sound?
