And the word of the day is: BARIATRICS!
Though quite lean herself, Barbara became obsessed with BARIATRICS when she learned that almost half of her friends had had gastric bypass surgery.  The way she figured it, it was either become interested in the proceedure or find a new set of friends.

Good morning, all!  A morning at the office, and an email to the Library of Congress with the call numbers of the things I'll want to check on this week's trip.

Last night I watched the most god-awful children's film with the most appalling CGI scenery and fake music and the most frightening cast ever assembled, LITTLE RED RIDINGHOOD.  whenever I see Joey Fatone's name, all I see - and this film reinforces it - Joey Fat One. He plays the wolf, only he's a werewolf in this version.  Henry Cavill must be thrilled he's in THE TUDORS because this film, in which he plays the exciting dual role of Hunter and pizza delivery boy, would have killed his career.

I wached this turkey because I'm weeding out the pileup of unwatched DVDs.  This film is neither a keeper not a watchable entity.  The people who give it good reviews on Amazon.com must be friends of the director or cast.

Off to the mines.

Mercury remains in its second sign of rulership -- Virgo -- until September 5 and this placement can enrich your life on the nutrition, diet and exercise fronts. The solar rapport with distant Pluto suggests that you can finally get to the bottom of life-long quandaries that have proved baffling for decades.

Lifelong quandaries like: "How in the world have I accumulated so much crap"?

DH, my own in-house technical geek, figured out how to transfer VHS to DVD and had done 5 shows he had worked on to one DVD, with the titles of the shows, when they aird, etc. Boy, that's going to free up some shelf space. Unfortunately, he's figured this out after I've already packed my VHS tapes and put them in storage. Something for me to do at the new house...

DR Jose, did you cry when you got rid of your car? I keep mine for years and spend so much time driving that I get irrationally attached to my cars and feel like I'm abandoning them!

I am surprised to find that moving out of this house is a very emotional thing for me. I have lived here all of my adult life, 27 years, and the unknown scares me, although I think I will like the new place. In my cleaning I occasionally run across things from my past life with my ex. Then there's the fear that the cats, who are all such creatures of habit, will not adapt, since this is the only home they've ever known. We have our routines...when I walk in the door, little Ociee goes to the spot were she does somersaults until we rub her tummy, etc. and the others have the spots they land to get petted, etc.

The thought that we won't be doing these things in these places EVER AGAIN makes me sad for some reason, although I know we will establish new rituals at the new house.

And then when I see friends here in Marietta and they seem so sad that we're moving, I feel like crying then, and usually do. BUT WE'RE ONLY MOVING 15 MILES AWAY!!!

Maybe this is bringing up stuff from my childhood and moving almost every year when my father was in the service, but boy, it's annoying. Maybe once I start getting furniture into the new house it will start feeling like ours.

I absolutely LOVED those pictures from the barn last night! Those people are so lucky!

I would be thrilled to drive even one of those cars!

I know Tom has been seen in NYC but the missing Dan is a concern (given his health issues of last year). Emails are being bounced back!

I was able to send a PM to DR DtM some days ago, but as of yet have not had a response.  Nor one from DR Julie, but I assume that DR FJL would let us know if anything was amiss.

I am taking inspiration from Music Guy to remain positive during the move.

Back to more packing and sneezing and dusting. The books are the worst---the next worst thing will be the LP's. I've filled up two dozen wine boxes already, even with the purging!

Fortunately, no cats have been purging!

DR DakotaCelt:  CONRATS indeed on your new plateau!  And continued ***VIBES*** for your father.

DR Matt H: The Ellery Queen series is available to purchase in ootleg-bay version from the site that DR Vixmom posted the other day.

DR td, WONDERFUL health news about your mum.

Loved your editing class story, DR Edisaurus!

No reports yet on HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2.

Welcome back to DR MusicGuy.

I am listening to the streaming audio of Brooke Astor's memorial service from Saint Thomas Fifth Avenue, NY, NY.  My, that choir is fine!

Stars and planets wise, DR EDISAURUS, this is a very good time to move, travel, and find new digs.

Permanent or temporary.....

Just remember....don't take an old broom into a new house, and buy a new box of salt for your new kitchen.
