A wedding? Oh, I love weddings!

Hmm...

Friends of mine once hosted a very camp "Always the Bridesmaid, Never the Bride" theme party.

I think I might have enjoyed LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE even a little less than you did, DR Ron Pulliam. It was OK, but I found the ending very frustrating leaving everyone basically unsatisfied and all loose ends of their lives dangling. I didn't find any of the characters very affable or fun to spend time with. And the comic set pieces just didn't make me laugh (which is the main barometer for a comedy.)

I find much more humor in TV comedies right now than I find at the movies.

And I weighed 215 at the end of July....so I am working on it.

GREASE (current) and HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL are such formulaic bastardizations of a form that I love, that it is difficult for me to remain calm when they are being discussed.

As for the reviewer's comparison of this production with June Allyson and Van Johnson musicals ... well he does a great disservice to June and Van and steps GREASE way up in class....

TOD:

Thinnest--105 after one summer when I was working construction and was in great shape, and then had my tonsils out and couldn't eat solid foods of a week. I went back to college a few weeks after than and didn't even weigh enough to give blood. That was amazing! (Everyone thought I looked too thin, but I felt good.)

Now I weigh almost twice that! It's kind of like what I'm facing with packing things up---I never realized how much stuff I had accumulated for 27 years without even noticing.

The last 10 years of editing have been especially hard on my waistline. (What waistline?) I had double sessions most days and no exercise, and eating late at night---everything bad you can do, basically. And in addition to my paying jobs, I always have at least one labor of love that takes up my spare time, but which I need for my mental health.

But I'm hoping that now we have moved, I can:
1. Start cooking at home instead of a 90 degree kitchen
2. Walk to work when possible
3. Say no to extra projets more often!

I will have much more time not having a big commute every morning! And the neighborhood we're moving to is very hilly and there are always people out walking it.

The success stories on HHW are inspiring to me!

Lightest   8 lbs 1 0z  8/16/1957

Heaviest 195 lbs 4/29/1993
however, by the end of the day I was about 20 lbs lighter

Before the thyroid removal I hovered between 110 -115
Since then I hover somewhere in the higher regions much higher than DR Jason!!

(AH to have HIS waist size!!)

Happiest with how I looked when I was in the 110 - 115 range
I suspect I will never see those numbers again unless I remove one of my legs

which I have no plans on doing in the near future

 ;D Very clever, VIXMOM.

You'd think that the Pastor would have the "GOOD WEATHER VIBES" covered, but as a Pastor once told me:  I'm in sales, not management!

DR JEANNE - breakdowns and repairs are common when Neptune is in Leo....but with it moving into Virgo this week, things should lighten up...repair wise anyway.

My! Aren't we getting personal? :)  OK, since you're all so good about sharing your weight stories--and yes, they are interesting and inspiring--I'll share mine.

I never had any problems with my weight when I was younger. I was always thin and didn't have to diet. Since the age of 20, I have, however, tried to eat a healthy diet and keep desserts and junk food under control. Twice in my life I've gained, 20 pounds each time, but managed to get rid of it. Until a few months ago I weighed 125 lbs, which I never expected to get down to or maintain at my age. (I'm 5'6".) I've always said that if I wanted to gain I'd know how to do it: just eat ice cream. Well, under stress I started eating ice cream and, yup, gained 10 lbs. That's got to go. I'm taking a gradual approach--smaller servings of the no-no's, plus exercising again, which I wanted to resume, anyway. But my year at 125 showed me that I CAN do it.

No, no, JRAND. You can't weigh while wet! You know how heavy water is!! Dry off and I bet you'll be 10 lbs lighter!

Of course weighing less means I know longer feel pangs of guilt when driving over a bridge with a posted Load Limit.

TOD|:

Growing up I was always way too skinny and I hated it. When I graduated high school I was 125 pounds and stayed at that weight until I was in my early 30s...I was underweight and looked terrible. I was also a heavy smoker from age 18 to my mid 30s, so that likely just added to my underweightedness.

Around age 33 or so I started to gain weight and started to get a bit of a belly...I joined a gym and quit smoking and got to a nice, slim, but muscular 160 pounds which fit me nicely for 5 or 6 years.

Then I bought a house and  stopped going to the gym regularly and started eating ice cream and going out for pancake breakfasts with my buddy Mark and the pounds slowly accumulated again...now I am up into the 180s.

180 is still an ok weight for me, but I would like to get some of the flab to turn back into muscle. For my age I think I look Ok, but I now if I got back into the gym routine I would feel better and my blood sugar and cholesterol and things of that nature would all be much better off.
