Yeah - I nabbed a little something when I went down to check out TKTS.
Sorry!

No worries.  I'm still sort of full from lunch.  And I still have most of my Garrett's "Mix" left too to munch on.

And as for Wopat, I believe that's when he started concentrating more on his recording and stage work.

Re:  DH.  Well as BK sez, that's what makes horse racing.  Every time we pause on it for even a moment whilst channel surfing, it grates annoyingly, no matter who's on, Nora or not.   ;D  We paused on it sometime this year and Hatcher was doing some schtick with Mike (is that his name?) and DS Betsy said "Wasn't that just what they were doing two years ago, the last time we watched?"  I know you will take this in the spirit intended (as in, please don't be offended since none is intended), but I think it may just be more of a gay-centric show, sensibility- and appeal-wise--it just took a season or two to finally admit it to itself.

Re:  Sacco and Vanzetti.   My DVD Talk review should up live any minute now.  I had a most worthwhile afternoon watching it.

And just in case any DR is interested, there's a short "interview" with Michael Urie and Mark Indelicato over at BroadwayWorld.com.

At times nature can be cruel, but there is also a raw beauty, and even a certain justice manifested within that cruelty. The alligator, one of the oldest and ultimate predators, normally considered the "apex predator", can still fall victim to implemented 'team work' strategy, made possible due to the tight knit social structure and "survival of the pack mentality" bred into the canines.

Note that the Alpha dog has a muzzle hold on the alligator's snout, preventing it from breathing, while another dog has a hold on the tail to keep it from thrashing. The third dog attacks the soft underbelly of the alligator.

***COMPANY SURVIVAL VIBES***
to DR Jane!!!

Thank you, but sadly they left this morning, a day early.  The guy has been sick since they arrived.  We think he is having a rather bad migraine.  His wife called to let us know they arrived at their hotel for the night, it's a long drive back to L.A., & he isn't any better.  We will get a report again tomorrow once they arrive home, possibly after a stop at the doctor's office.

Cason, if you want to wait a bit, Xanadu-wise, I have to see it and will be getting Miss Kerry Butler's house seats.

DR RLP....sorry to delay this answer, but YES I watched Season One of Rome last week, and I have viewed 5 episodes of Season Two.

As was noted here on HHW....not great history....but interesting.  Very well cast....I like all of the actors/actresses in their roles....with a few standouts of course.

Too late--we left days ago!   ;D

 ;D

I'm glad you didn't get sick after dinner :)

I saved the photo of your kitchen for Keith to see.  Boy does it bring back memories!  Twice now we have done complete kitchen tear outs.

Ah, yes- I am a newlywed  ;D That picture was taken right after our ceremony on 07-07-07 (a little trendy, but we hoped the date would bring us luck- so far, so good!). My dear husband is named Tommy. And he is wonderful.  :) :) :)

With a timeout for Vivaldi's ERCOLE.

Well...............I hadn't heard this opera....or opera buffa as one guy calls it on the "extras"....

Zachary Stains as nakey Hercules looks very GOOD, and sings most of his part well.  The staging just mostly has him walking around and swinging his cape....no jumping jacks or anything like that.

Two other singers....counter tenors....were my favorites.  Randall Scotting as Tesseo and Fillippo Mineccia as Telemone.

The staging was mostly walking around and making faces during the instrumental parts....but a lot of numbers ended with the singer coming way downstage while the curtain closed behind them, or a scrim dropped, and the set was changed.  It sounded several times like a herd of elephants and freight train were involved in the set changes.

AND the main actresses wore BIG boots and costumes that looked like the spandex suits from MAMMA MIA....so when they (or anyone) walked on the steps....again...it was elephants.

The men were all barefooted and wore short tunics....the ladies of the ensemble had one tele exposed....

All in all....an okay production....opera buffs may find it interesting, others beware....unless you really LOVE counter tenors and very fat ingenues (Laura Cherici).

I have just about ALL of my lines learned for THE SUNSHINE BOYS....

Last night's rehearsal was difficult because Willie misread the schedule and didn't prepare for the Doctor Sketch....so only one of us knew it....and NO BOOKS.....ugh.  But it will be better tomorrow night, I am sure when we do our two longer scenes.

Kerry Butler has sung with Guy Haines - that should tell you all you need to know.

I've packed an umbrella just to be on the safe side.

Only three roles left to cast - should have been only two, but you know, actors come, actors go, like Grand Hotel.

No word from STUFF HAPPENS, so I am not optimistic that I will be cast in the show, but that's okay, too.

Might be time for some days off from the THEA-TAH!!  Although earning a few Equity hours would have been nice.

Thank you, JRand and Jane, for the birthday wishes :D It's turning out to be a wonderful day! Now I am off, because my husband has tickets to a sold out concert in which my favorite band is headlining- 13th row, not bad at all. I will be dancing the night away to 311 and Matisyahu.

Thank you DRLaura, it took lots of work but things came together, as they always do. Tell DRSandra I would love to hear from her- I think of you guys often, but didn't know if it would be appropriate to contact you after so long. :) TTYL.

I know, I know, I know!

He was giving the proper cue line for "Sing!," which our own dear SINGdaw had put as just a bell cue - in reference to DR Edisaurus' claim that she could never really sing (though she knew the lyrics to) the Lord Chancellor's Nightmare - which she and a college friend would try and quote to see who was less drunk to drive.

Did I follow those posts from memory correctly?
