I like Helio....and Jenny Garth's partner will be her downfall....

It is very scary to see the female celebrities after they dance.....HDTV is very unforgiving to those whose makeup is not dewy fresh......

Jenny was lovely in the long shots....close up, not so much.

Can't dance.....working....but I am thinking about it.

Now that the moon void for the day has ended...it's full steam ahead for all of us.

Don't let the morning delays and frustrations hold you back.

All I can say about air travel is that delay's are beginning to be par-for-the-course.  I can't remember the last time I flew where one of the legs of the trip was delayed..

Never fear - the Government is here to help!

USATODAY

Quote
Bush vows action on airline delays, stranded passengers

Acting Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) chief Bobby Sturgell said that within two weeks, regulators will summon airlines to discuss how to reduce flights at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport. A rapid increase in flights at Kennedy in recent years has made it one of the most delayed airports in the country.

The problem results in part from airlines scheduling too many flights, Peters said. At Kennedy in August, airlines had scheduled 57 departures between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., when the airport can handle only 44.

Here's a thought - tell the stupid airports not to schedule more departures than they can handle -DUH!

Laura, I'll post all the details in tomorrow's notes.

I'm ordering books this week and we should have them in about ten days to ship.  If you haven't ordered, what are ya waiting for, ya wild kid, ya?

Oh, before I forget...

One other thing I loved about the closing night of Brain...

When poor DH Richard was up on stage being "tapped," I wasn't sure which I was enjoying more...HIS facial expressions, or the giggles of DR Ginny behind me...

Did you see Sarah Brown?  ;)

No, unless that was the name of one (or both) of the two very large black guys that picked up my stuff.

the gasman called me this morning to let me know that what I smelled was indeed gas, and there was a gas leak...but it was from my neighbor's home, not mine. I was grateful.

Grateful, so when both your houses blow up he gets the blame?

The copyist supervisor Paul Holderbaum just called and said the fireworks and the accompanying music were all over the news last night, and everyone seemed to like what we accomplished.  I'm pleased.

Congratulations!  That's great! :D

HHW activity? Whatever do you mean?? Perhaps your cronies are taking in the Last Starfighter.

"HHW activity" is sort of like the "police activity" that you hear about on the traffic reports, except without the flashing red lights...

Hello, all! We had a (thankfully) uneventful flight home. I'm sorry to hear about bk's drama. I'm sure I was one of the people he talked to about La Guardia, and I will take 1/3 of the blame, although when bk asked me what airport I was flying from and I said LaGuardia, he said "Oh, I HATE LaGuardia!" I told him I liked it because it was so small and it seemed odd knowing how big NY is. Then he said "Oh. I was thinking of JFK."

So I'm glad you didn't end up at JFK, and made it to your flight!

I've had panic situations where I tell the driver one airport and then midway there start thinking I told him the wrong one and have to dig out my ticket and check. At least in Atlanta, there's only one airport!

We were fortunate to be able to make it back to the Plaza before leaving "the island Manhattan" and I sweet-talked my way into the high security at The Plaza so we could give Elmore, Ginny and Richard a goodbye hug!

I didn't get to hear Elmore's piece in rehearsal but I did hear a few Cole Porter tunes. I can relate to what Elmore was saying about the strings, because I was the orchestra manager for The Atlanta Pops for 10 years and I remember how strident the strings were when they used electronic pickups on the bridge for outdoor concerts and how it crushed the other intruments. It never sounded natural.

Leaving Manhattan, our driver drove around in circles and right past the Plaza even though we told her traffic around there was a zoo. It took us 1/2 hour to even get off of the island and I thought we were going to be late, but we actually arrived at the airport 1 & 1/2 hours before our flight, so all was good.

And we shared the car with a tv producer from a company in Toronto who produces for A&E. She does some show about the last 24 hours in the life of someone famous who has died. Right now they were just finishing up this season's premiere show about Anna Nicole Smith. (Yes, this show has been on for more than one season!) It's part documentary and part drama (probably re-enactment) and the idea sounds like it dumbs down both forms. We also had a nice conversation about lower 5ths, ID bugs, etc.

Her name was Amy, too.

As we flew over Manhattan, we could actually see The Plaza because it was brighter than anything else and had searchlights going. The flight wasn't crowded, it arrived early, and the only thing that could have made it better was if we had been able to see the fireworks from the air.

Here's a picture of Elmore, with his backup band:

...After my schedule last week with rehearsals, auditions, NYMF shows and HHW gatherings, I'm feeling like I'm forgetting to do something today... Although, each time I check my schedule, it still says I'm off today.

;D  I know that feeling. You get so used to being extremely busy that when you actually have a few hours free you keep thinking that there's something wrong--surely there's something you've missed.

DR Jeanne - at the moment, the Arsenicum Album seems to be helping with the nausea much more than my doctor's prescription seemed to...

Thank you so much!  :)

Oh, you tried it! Good for you. Isn't it amazing? There have been times when the second the little pellet (read=tiny pill) hit my tongue the nausea abated.

REALLY glad you're feeling somewhat better, Sing.

Just take it as needed.

From our HHW gathering Saturday night, I think, at The Brooklyn diner.

Greg is in the back (I think that's Cason and Cilla and my flash in the mirror) and Miss K, BJ and The Enabler, hisself.

It sure was a delight to spend time with these folks!
