Congratulations DearReader Laura.

We live in a Crock Pot happy household.  We do not use (or have) a micro wave oven),

(It is not a crack or pot happy household).

There are those,
I suppose
Think we're mad,
Heaven knows
The world has gone to rack and to ruin

What we think is chic
Unique
And quite adorable

They think is odd and
"Sodom and Gomorrah"-ble!

But the fact is,
Everything today is thoroughly modern
Check your personality
Everything today makes yesterday slow
Better face reality

It's not insanity
Says Vanity Fair
In fact, it's stylish to
Raise your skirts and bob your hair

Have you seen the way they kiss in the movies
Isn't it delectable?
Painting lips and pencil lining your brow
Now is quite respectable

Good-bye, good goody girl
I'm changing and how

So beat the drums 'cause here comes
Thoroughly Modern Millie now

OH! OH! OH!

I can't I forgot - well, that any of us - forgot to mention that when were at The Brooklyn Diner on Saturday night, Guy Haines stopped by!  And he wanted to play "Name That Stain"!

It's always nice to see Guy Haines up and about, in spite of those nasty rumors. . . .now, has anyone here seen his DW Miriam?

She didn't say what size it is, did she?

I have a recipe for "slow cooker" Brunswick Stew if she, or anyone else, is interested.

Did DearReaderLaura DR say "crock pot" or "crackpot"?

I, for one, am most excited and interested in a new crock pot.

And, yes, DR Ron Pulliam, I am interested in any recipe you may proffer...

And it never occurred to anyone to change your seating location?    Maybe they thought that kept you in your place.
Nope, wasn't that.  Dad sat across from Mom, who had the seat closest to the kitchen.  My sister took the seat that wasn't under the lights, because she was tall, too.  I got the bonk seat by default.

For DR scrimshaw:

Ingredients:
1 Chicken, 3 lbs, cut up
2 quarts Water
1 Onion, chopped
2 cups Ham; cooked, cubed
3 Potatoes, diced
2 cans Tomatoes; 16 oz, ea, cut up
10 ounces Lima beans, frozen and thawed
10 ounces Corn; whole kernel, frozen, partially thawed
2 teaspoons Salt
1 teaspoon Sugar
1/4 teaspoon Pepper
1/2 teaspoon Seasoned salt
Instructions:
In a crock pot combine chicken with water, onion, ham, and potatoes. Cook covered on LOW for 4 to 5 hours or until chicken is done. Lift chicken out of pot; remove meat from bones. Return chicken meat to pot. Add tomatoes, beans, corn, salt, seasoned salt, sugar and pepper. Cover and Cook on HIGH 1 hour.

Makes 8 servings.

You can alter the recipe to suit your tastes.  I often substitute pork loin for the ham.  I prefer the taste.

I make up a batch and freeze in one-pint containers.  It's wonderful to have some in the freezer.
