Another standout is Cason Murphy as Zubrick. He has an amazing stage presence, and truly turns his two songs into the giant production numbers they are supposed to be. He is a true triple-threat, with some great dancing, a great voice, and certainly wonderful comedic acting.

I think I have seen the hit of the new tv season (no spoilers). It starts tonight on ABC, PUSHING DAISIES.

It's funny, fun, quirky, romantic. And it has mysteries too.  It's the best most original pilot i've seen so far. It's on tonight on ABC at 8pm and i believe they are replaying it on friday too.

For those who want to know what the show is about (very general):
It's basically about a guy named ned who touches dead people. If he touches them once, they come back to life and he has one minute without consequence. After the minute he can touch them again and they die. Or if he doesn't do this within one minute someone else dies in their place.

The key is that once a person is brought back to life, ned can never touch them again.

It is so quirky and some romance. ANd a lot of mystery.

For those who want to know how the mystery aspect plays in (no episode spoilers but it may be more than some people want to know) basically ned runs a pie shop. And he works with a partner (chi mcbride) at a sort of side job.  they are sort of like private investigators. Ned helps with his "skill".

Kristin Chenoweth stars as a co-worker at the pie shop (and ned's neighbor). I must say i love her. But she was the one cast member who i'm not sure about.

Hi, folks! What a lovely day! Yesterday I toddled over to the Getty Museum, just off the 405, to walk around the garden. So beautiful. I remember one time when Jane was in town, we strolled through the lush flowering wonderland. Well, since that time, the maze at the bottom has really filled in - it is created from hundreds of azaleas, clipped uniformly by some pretty dedicated gardeners! Like something out of Alice in Wonderland!! Quite a lot of the maze was flowering... I'm waitin' for spring!!!!

Why not do THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X as the Fundraiser....with the all-star cast you have assembled?

I still think that What If?, with a cast of 8 or 10, a band, and a few new songs would be swell.

My sister and i were invited to dinner at the home of one of her best friends last night - they served grilled lamb... the Costco size. For four people. After dinner, the hostess was going to throw out the monster pile of leftover meat - NO!!!! So i packed it up into a plastic bag and brought it home with me. I don't know how indelicate that might have been - but something in me detests waste - and something else in me saw a grand opportunity...

The Film Score Monthly site has been down for at least 2 days. Is it my browser, or is it really down - anyone know?

I know they were talking about adding ads to the site...but that shouldn't necessitate taking it down!!

DR singdaw - Well, if you could see the Oak Room in the giant cake of The Plaza, well, that would be an awfully good trick... since the Oak Room is at the Algonquin.  ;)

Good plumbing vibes to DR Elmore...and just remember, when the plumber arrives to fix the sink, things don't always go the way they do in those cheap VCR movies you have!

RE: last night's DANCING WITH THE STARS results

I don't know if anyone posted about the show yet (didn't finish reading yesterday's posts).  But i was curious what people thought of who was eliminated. IT was actually more interetsing to me to see wayne newton in the B2 (who i thought was bad but who i assumed had a ton of fans).

It was interesting that mark cuban (who was B2 last week) was not in the bottom this week.

I was very sad that jane seymour was absent (her mother died in england). But i was really glad to hear she will stay on.

Anyhow, i actualy figured that either floyd, or albert would probably go. I knew marie osmond was popular. And i knew jennie garth was.

I have no idea how popular floyd is (i guess he must be well-known just not to me).

I feel bad for the 2 models. Since they have zero fan base to go on. And no matter what crap ABC says the fan base is a huge part.

I mean someone with a slightly smaller fanbase (like helio or sabrina) who excels with the judges) can do okay.

But people who are popular have it made in the first rounds. I was not that upset to see the model guy go.  But in many ways it was unfair since he was quite decent. I think they need to stop using people who are unknowns. Because it doesn't give them a fair chance.  Although i guess if they valued the judges votes for exactly 50% that could help too.

Ohh..

I guess the Plaza and the Algonquin both had/have Oak Rooms.  Or did the Oak Room move to the Algonquin after the Plaza closed.  Or... ???

My apologies for the correction, DR singdaw.  -Would you like a piece of Monkey Cake?
