This just in:

Sacco and Vanzetti has been selected to receive the fourteenth John O'Connor Film Award of the American Historical Association.

The 2008 AHA annual meeting is in Washington D.C. in January, and the film will be screened for more than 5,000 history professors and high-school teachers.

Hooray! Maybe we'll go!

Congratulations!!!

No, I am seeing the remaining two NYMF shows this coming weekend.

I was down in the basement, working up a sweat trying to clean up a bit.  It's not the same as chimney-sweep sweat.

Yes, "Joe vs. the Volcano" is a fun movie...even with its flaws.

I agree, I have not seen it in years

I have tried getting on here a few times since the weekend but kept being interrupted  before I could post

So with little fanfare (and befoer the news is entirely stale)

did I hear a "too late" from Mr Snarkmeister?

 ;D

Ginny, Richard and Vixter , before Richard's New York theatrical  premiere

Lovely picture of Ginny, Richard and Vixter.

Excited to read more FRIENDS and STARFIGHTER posts as the day progresses.

DR EDISAURUS - thanks for the picture of the Plaza Cake....that is quite a baking accomplishment!  I wonder if the Oak Bar is in there someplace?

Jrand - When I was living in New Jersey, my roommate dated the daughter of a multi-millionaire, who was a millionaire in her own right.  I guess I won't name names.  Anyway, one night they went out to a Broadway show and after the show they went for drinks at the Oak Bar.  She had previously mentioned that she had never been there before.

As they were enjoying their cocktails, he asked her what she thought of the place.  It is really lovely," she said, "I wonder what kind of wood they used?"

So... Let's see...  Matchbox for their Mini-Burgers and Pizza...  Teaism for their Salty Oat and Chocolate Chip Granola Cookies...  Jaleo for the skewers of Chorizo on top of some amazing mashed potatoes... Zaytinya for anything with lamb...  The Carlyle for their Flourless Chocolate Waffle and their high-end Banana Pudding with Caramelized(!) Vanilla Wafers...  Etc., etc., etc...

You seriously need your own website, and it should be funded by the places you recommend. Maybe you could call it "Jose Sent Me". People using this catch phrase would also get a 10% discount on their meal.

Your recommendations make me want to make the tirp to D.C., even in January!!

OH!...

I keep meaning to mention that DR Jason has been sidelined with a very bad cold/head/chest something the past couple of days.  Thankfully, today is his day off, so I hope he's been able to get some good rest.  God knows, his schedule is only going to get crazier once his rehearsals start for his tour.

~~~GET WELL VIBES FOR DR JASON!!~~~
Well, it's time for me to leave work and go to our first REAL music rehearsal for the show!  The composer/music director is supposed to have music for all of us (and probably accompaniment CDs for those who don't read music...which is most of the cast ::)).  Hopefully, it won't be a complete trainwreck. ;) I know it'll take some time, but I don't doubt that it'll all be a ton o' fun!!
Not really, just a fan of the Dukes themselves.
My college buddy, Chris Hensel spent a season or two on DUKES, during the sans Wopat/Scheider times. . .
